Morning all.. I've looked through the forum an can't seem to find any info on what I'm looking for. I've recently had my passenger door seal replaced.. the seal cost me £71. Didn't get charged for fitting as there was alot ov messing around getting the seal. On collecting my car I was told that seat had stopped making these seals for this model. Mk1 cupra r. Can anyone shed any light on this. Cheers Rob.

Hi. Not to sure what seal was replaced.. I took it to the garage as I was getting water in the passenger foot well. It's had a seal replaced an this hasn't stopped the water from getting in. So it's back to the garage to find out what's next... an when my garage received the rubber seal they was told this was the only 1 left an that no more seals where being made. Apparently they had to phone around to find this part.. an when they found it they said that this part was obsolete.. thanks for the replies.

Cheers for that.. didn't fancy attempting it myself. But if it seems easy enough then I'll give it a go... was just a bit miffed to be told the part is obsolete ..

Really straightforward job. Just make sure you clean out as much of the old gunky seal you can and make sure the surfaces are dry before running the new seal round.

Even I could do it :D

Don’t know about just theLCR but I would’ve thought that the Leon range was pretty standard for the seals

Water in the footwell is a common problem on this car - happened when I had mine! The water is actually coming in behind the door card. In the factory, SEAT used a foam spray on seal - over time, the foam disintegrates and let's water run in. What you need to do is remove the card etc and scrape off the old seal. Then, apply a new silicone sealant and job done! My local specialist did this and no more water. Hope this helps! Cheers, Steve.

Could also be pollen filter but mine was the old foam sealant disintegrating. Get both front doors done for peace of mind.

Using talcum powder lightly dusted should show up any leaks, mine came through by the speaker, if after rain when you open the doors you find water puddles on the sill then the seals not water tight. Also seal the pollen filter and check for blockages in water run aways
