at the end of the day banger115 has paid his hard earned cash on this clutch and hes not happy with the outcome, garages are always happy to take the £££ off us customers but arent intrested in should a problem appears, this is how you tell who are professional customer quality garages and who arent.
JBS seem to be the latter,

All you are intent on doing is trying showing everyone on this board a story to showup banger115 instead of sorting the problem, you say you have changed the clutch for him a couple of times and now not going to work on his car again well that shows us all what you think of your customers. If a customer isnt happy you should not rest until the problem is solved or a refund no matter what you buying!
Banger115 pickup the phone and contact trading standards, you have bought a product/service that is not fit for what it is intended.
End of story.
I had a similar experience with my old evo a new clutch that slipped less tham 3000miles later garage didnt want to change it saying a few launches on that car can kill it and thats what i done.when i didnt, went to trading standards and they agreed that no way should the clutch last that long and that it wasnt a reasonable amount of 'use' i had from it,they were orderd to replace the clutch and the car was then inspected by a indepandant garage to see that it was satisfactory.
At the end of the day its forums like this and customer experiences about so called 'specialists' That we all want to hear about, weve all learned from this thread that if we go have a clutch or similar service from JBS and experience aftersales problems they arent going to be intrested so thats put me off going there,
Maybe there should be a section on this board about customer experiences where we can all share our views!
That way if anyone wants a service/product from a certain compay then a quick search would show the true results.
everyone has got less cash to spend these days and throw away so when you buy something you expect it to be right
Hope you get it sorted mate,

seems to suck the fat one a bit that the T's & C's pretty much tell you that although you're buying 'performance' parts - but that if you use them in the manner intended you're on your own.

poor attitude though, sponsor or not.

Hi Chris1,

thanks for the support.. might come to a good outcome still yet.

I wasn`t going to mention this and if im out of order im sorry, but CBP have told me that they are willing to supply an brand new clutch kit.
I told Mike from CBP that i just needed the friction plate as it was a bit blue, but he said No we`ll supply complete clutch kit. So cant fault there service form them.

blah blah blah, no warranty if the vehicle is used for racing, rallying or similar sports

so what they're saying (and correct me if I'm wrong) but 1/4 mile sprints & track days invalidate it.

the irony of getting your car CC'd at GTI Inters & getting a 'free' 1/4 mile run astounds....

Their marketing/sales teams obviously hadn't read their own T&C's before putting that offer on.

This is what makes me laugh about the 'performance car' lark. As soon as you drive it like the brochures say you should be able to, no one wants to know / help. Funny f*c*ing world we live in.

I'm sure they'll use the misuse statement in there too... though clutches by definition are not on/off switches, so they must take some slippage.

I think someone's got their back up @ JBS, and probably would be resolvable face to face.

Maybe they have though. Just think about it for a minute. Every customer gets a free drag run which invalidates any work done by jbs and it`s all recorded as well so the customer hasn`t got a leg to stand on when something goes wrong. Very clever if you as me.

those terms and conditions arent worth the paper they are written on,and are there for one reason,as a get out clause in situations just like these.
At the end of the day they can make what ever T+C they want but if they dont comply with the Trading Standards law then they havent a leg to stand on,if you keep having trouble pal ring then they are very helpful!
chose carefull in future guys:whistle:

"Now I have spoken with Mike at CBP and he was waiting your call to see what they are prepared to offer but, as we have already changed the clutch under warranty for you we are no longer prepared to work on your vehicle."

that attitude speaks volumes. dumping customers when it goes wrong.

Bad news travels fast in the modding world. It's a brave stance to take with the power of the net. Shocking.

not just that... sitting at a set of lights and pulling away from another car could be looked at as "racing" so you put a performance clutch in your car, but you cannot use it for the purpose it was designed for, or you have no warranty. complete and utter cack!

if this is the case, I would report their T&C to Trading Standards!

brave or just stupid? crazy for any company to advertise they wont support a customer after replacing a part.
in another thread i felt a bit sorry for them, another clutch company made dealing tricky but they at least sounded like they were on the customers side.
now its the other way round. flatly refusing to support the customer even when CBP want to help.

Makes you wonder if the other thread was basically down to poor service due to JBS?

Oh and before anyone asks, im not starting up a new clutch group haha!
