Im sure ive had vag com on before when the dash board has been beeping and no fault codes have come up. Its wierd and very annoying!!

When you get the beeps, what does the gauge show? No reading or in the red?

the two sensors, g2 and g62, are they two sensors in the main temp sensor?

Yes, they are completely separate electricall. The single unit screwed into the coolant pipes has four electrical connectors in the plug, two for each sensor. The gauge on the dashboard, and the three-beep warning signal, take their reading from the G2 sensor, wheras the ECU takes the reading from the G62 sensor. No, don't ask me why, I'd be guessing :)

I dont suppose you know where the sensors are do you? Ive changed the senssor at the right hand side of the block, just above the gear box. That one only has two pins?

Nope. That's a new one on me, and doesn't match the diagrams in any of the manuals I've seen. I'm no expert on the PD engine, though. I think you need to find someone with the same car as you to compare it with.

theres a lot of conflicting info between different ibiza models on this and other threads.

I've got a 130 sport, pd engine and there is definately

- no sensor in the tank
- the temp sensor is a 2 wire device on the right side of the block
- vag-com does not show any faults
- the owners manual defiately states that a normal temperature reading with the red light and beeps is an indication of coolant level.

I like others cannot find where the level sensing signal comes from - some-one surely must know????!!!!

I have recently connected my car up to vag com and did have a fault with the coolant sensor. It came up with coolant sensor intermittent.

It is wierd though. Ive noticed that when the weather is cold the light on the dash and the beeps almost happen immediatly but when its nice and sunny and hot it wont come on for a while.

Plus ive had a new sensor put in and still the same fault which makes me think that there is another sensor, like on the back of the block, that noone has found.
