Resurrecting an old thread i know but i've just taken my car into Awesome GTI to have this looked at and have the kit fitted but they've run into a problem the kit doesn't work so have no brakes! I've rang Seat UK complaining and they said they'd get a case manager to call me back guess i'll have to state the FOC fix Memo.

Wish i had seen this thread sooner as the car is currently stuck in Awesome. Should i tell them to cancel and try and get the dealer to do it instead?

The kit doesn't work so you have no brakes?

that makes no sense what so ever.

can you elaborate?

Erm in simple terms for me they fitted the kit but theres supposed to be a rod that pushes in an out of the block and activates the motor but it must be stuck so the motor is constantly running and the light stays on it has given a seperate fault now related to that bit dont know that code.

either way it clearly wasnt safe to drive and awesome are doing a good job but if it needs a whole new uniy i dont know what ill do then.

Im not sure whats up with it as the car went in under the g201 code. They got the repair kit from vag and fitted it but its obviously new to them as they seemed a bit stumped. Seemed unexpected for them.

We it's not something I've ever experienced with these kit and I've fitted hundreds. I worked for the first garage vw trailed the repair kit on back in 2010.
sounds like something has been f*cked up during fitting and they need to sort it and you should incur no more costs.

They are stupidly simple to fit too. It's only 2 bolts to undo then the 2 parts separate.

I should add as it may be misunderstood im not blaming awesome for anything well hopefully not. It is possible it was a dodgy one so theyre gonna try another at no extra cost.

They seemed to change it no bother only to find out the light wouldnt go out and the pump was stuck. So hopefully have better news tommorow.

Since Seat have acknowledged an issue with the ABS unit and is/was offering the fix FOC I wonder what anyone's chances are of getting some compensation if they have already paid for the ABS unit to be replaced out of their own pocket :think:

Hi guys. So this time last year I got my injectors done free under the recall by seat.
When I picked my car up my esp light was on, I asked them about this and they just turned a blind eye to it. This was not on before I gave them the car. (This was at seat in menston ilkley) avoid this at all costs if your going for a check up service etc.

So this year thought I'd try my luck, the light has been on just over a year.
So I googled the fault code that I got checked free by a friend and its was fault code g201-01435 brake pressure sensor.
I found many had the same issue. After arguing with menston I thought to give seat a call.

Got through to a lovely assistant, who said if it's that code they will definitely cover it for me but I will have to pay the diagnostic fee of £99. Which I was cool with as I knew it was that code which means I don't even pay the diagnostic fee.

I'm from Leeds myself but after the bad service at menston booked my self in at seat in Huddersfield an what and amazing bunch they are.

So the code come back as g201 01435 the seat assistant called me an said their paying 100% costs for the repair.
I was very pleased with this just goes to show which dealership you go to, the menston one wasn't willing to help at all but the Huddersfield seat totally amazing.

So guys if you have this problem get it checked at a garage unless you know someone. If you take it to a garage most charge £25 if that code comes back, ring seat 0500 222 222 they will open a case for you and as you take it to seat they check it and boom same code means free repair. Good luck guys.

Hi Guys

After 8 years of no issues (only 36k) and a FULL SEAT Service History, i got in the car this morning to discover that the ESP light was illuminated and i cant turn it off.

My hunch is that this could well be the G201 fault - so have booked in with a dealer and will call SEAT Customer Service today and see if they are still covering this, I Will report back.

EDIT; just noticed this is in the Altea Thread (got here via search) - will re post in the LEON Thread

Just spoken to SEAT Customer Services 0500 222 222.

Pretty helpful and have assigned a Case Manager, as car is not booked in until 16/09 they will not be able to advise on help with costs until then of course.

I asked if they were still covering the costs of these faults and she didint commit to saying yes, only some are covered and some arent. I wll update this thread after 16/09.

Thanks for all the info on here, very useful.

Hi there guys. Has anyone had this fault fixed recently on or around a 57 plate? I have the G201 fault and rang Seat customer services and they said my car is "just outside" of their criteria to have it done.

I have a 57 plate Cupra with full seat service history and literally just turned 100k. They said if I had a 58 plate with 90k they would have done it lol.

Seems rather unfair really, unless 10 years is a cut off or 100k maybe if anyone knows?

Thanks!

Please help

Hi all,

Help and tips needed!

I am having the same challenge which it looks like lots of Seat owner have had. The dreaded G201 01435. My car is 2006 with 77k on the clock.

Absolutely no help from Seat with really rude women handing my case. She says that as the car is out of the 3-year warranty, they don't offer any goodwill. I told them about it being a design fault and that there are plenty of Seat owners on forums having them fixed FOC with even higher mileage. It was at an independent for its MOT but they wouldn't look at my case until an official seat dealer diagnosed it at a stinging £95. That was 2 days ago, it's still there and im carless

Can anyone help me get this done FOC? Any tips or even a legal reference around it being a design fault?

Thanks in advance
