particulate trap bank 1

my car has gone into limp mode with the coil light flashing and the engine light on. the dpf light is also on. vcds scan shows particulate trap bank 1 efficiency below threshold p2002 short with power.

my local dealer says i may need a new dpf. i dont want to rush into paying for this as i know it is costly. what should i do?

carry out a forced regen

I have a similar issue - I have a 10 plate Leon, 1.6 TDI. Car is in limp mode with the coil light flashing. Have taken it to local garage who have carried out forced regen on the forecourt and then with a machine plugged into it take it up the motorway, where it all drove fine - dpf cleared etc but when back at garage and taken machine out - it has shown the same fault again and back in limp mode. He has said absolutely nothing wrong with it mechanically and that its a EPU/ mapping fault?! He also said there is a recall on this car for this fault? Can anyone offer advice?! Thank you
