Mirrors not turning in / Windows not dropping

The control unit for the mirrors and windows is effected by a power down, battery removed so needs to be retrained. A number of Ateca owners have been caught out by this. It also effects one touch closing of windows.

Solution as per manual... The manual doesn't mention that it also effects the auto close of the mirrors on locking.

Resetting one-touch opening and closing
The automatic open and close function will
not work if the battery has been temporarily
disconnected. The function can be restored
as follows:

– Close the window as far as it will go by lift-
ing and holding the electric window switch.

– Release the switch and then lift it again for
1 second. This will re-enable the automatic
function.

If you push (or pull) a button to the first
stage, the window will open (or close) until
you release the button. If you push or lift the
button briefly to the second stage, the win-
dow will open (one-touch opening) or close
(one-touch closing) automatically. If you op-
erate the button while the window is opening
or closing, it stops at this position.

From Ateca Electrical System Manual covers it on re connecting the battery

Connecting
Installation is carried out in the reverse sequence; note the following:
♦ Activate the automatic open / close function of electric window
lifters ⇒ Vehicle instructions manual .
Note
After connecting the power supply again, the ESP warning light
goes off again only after driving a few metres.

It's that which fitters leave off or if you get a flat battery. Worth trying for random events of not working.
