Some people have issues with this one and contrary advise. The issue rests on the mapping software being changed in the November 2016 release covered in this thread

Effects Seat owners as well covered on the Seatcupra site.. Spaces should be removed for the latter version, older release you can use a space or not. It effected people with Mapcare when they upgraded and found previous input data had problems.

Currently any system showing ECE 2017 maps will need the spaces omitted from postcodes, outward and inward part of the postcode is concatenated. The maps showing the reference ECE 2016/2017 you can have spaces in or take them out. Seems to be fixed in the ECE 2017/2018 release as far as I can tell. Might have returned in ECE 2018 one year later from reports.

Edit.

I see the other grumpy Ateca board is playing catch up now on this one.... Still playing catch up. Point to note postcodes are useful for sending letters and parcels but cover a wide area. In mapping to get round this in the UK GIS companies in the 90s point mapped UK addresses to the mid point of a property addresses. If you use the full address the VAG system will attempt to use the point mapped address that they have bought which will be more accurate than solely the postcode although in some instances of new housing the point mapping of the address may not be available. For domestic addresses in the UK it's best to avoid using the postcode to get better accuracy. This can all be checked out with the Here Maps app for doubting Thomas's which provides a surrogate of the cars system.
