Key fob will lock but not unlock the car

I've got a Seat Leon Mk2 57 plate, only done 70k, had it about 7 years now, great car and spent very little on repairs over the years, but since last week I've been unable to unlock the car with the key fob, yet it's ok to lock it. I pulled it apart yesterday as per youtube video and didn't remove the battery, and it worked ok for half a day, then it stopped working again. I pulled it apart again earlier and it's working again, but it's probably going to stop working again soon. I only ever had one set of keys when I bought the car in an auction 7 years ago. It can't be the battery as it locks ok. Any advice on how to fix this?

I have the same issue, but due to holidays and such it's not been such an issue. Now I'm back I need to get mine also resolved.

Some are saying it's down to the locking mechanism in the door that you need to drill and lubricate, but I'm not 100% convinced, as it locks ok.

I've even replaced the battery but like you it works for a while then stops again.

I also have this issue, I'm hoping that my current warranty (as I have only had the car 2 weeks) covers this and if it gets fixed I can let you guys know as I am also a little unwilling to drill bits of my car lol

I have tried repairing the remote using multiple ways from the forum, I have also noticed that the doors that open seems to pick and choose on a day to day some days I can open the rear doors and some days only one of them but never the front doors.

I'm booked into the garage Saturday to see if they can diagnose it, I will let you know my findings.

Jimbobcook, how did you get on at the garage? I've ended up ordering a replacement key.

The garage I was told to go to for the warranty decided to close early so I was a little stumped and haven't been back since.

On other news, 3 of my 4 doors are now working lol spoke to my local garage and he had just changed a door mechanism out on a golf and it costs £140 just for the parts so looking at over £200 for the one door...

Insane!

You think a new key will work? I have 2 remote keys and they both do the same...

Cheers

If both keys are not opening then it sounds like the lock mechanism itself and not the key. For me it's not opening any of the doors (single press for drivers side or double press for all doors) so I think my problem is the remote.
