Tiny screw in tyre - advice

I found a 10mm screw in my rear Dunlop tyre. It was situated about 4 cm's in from the edge before it encountered the first deep tread.

As a precaution I deflated the tyre, removed the screw and put the new pirelli spare on in its place (ironically I now have a matched pair of Pzero rosso's on the same axle at the rear and its better for it!)

Should I chance reinflating the spare and seeing if the screw actually penetrated the tyre wall? or should I take it in for inspection to a tyre place and see if it can be repaired?

Just can't be doing with another £100 or so of tyre related expense at the mo.....

Take it to a tyre place - no need to risk your life over £8

They will check it all over & let you know if it's gone right through (if not, then I doubt they will charge you). Anywhere near the sidewall & you'll need to replace, if it's in the main tread they will repair it for about £8

As chris said. its not worth risking your life over. Chances are, it didnt puncture at all, but if you dont take it...... well you know how this world works
