hi , i made a complete new exhaust system fo my leon 110 asv last week ,decat mufflerectomy etc. i used 2.5" tube because 3" was a tight fit between the subframe and floor where it meets the bottom of the bulk head. a guy on tdi club had 3" on his bora and removed it after a few months due to the tractor sound and drone it gave off. hope this helps brightsideteeem

Also maybe planning a completly custom exhaust, if work let me use the ramps, complelty stainless steel, dect, deleted silencer, and was thinking maybe 3" bore mandrel bent pipe from the turbo straight to the back? Do you think the bore is too big, too much like overkill, as I now know you dont need backpressure, or would 2.5" do the trick like devonutopia's fabia?

3" would be overkill, very tight and no gain over 2.5" really but no reason not to as such.

Removing the cat might permit a very slight increase in power.

More noticeable, for those who have a temperature gauge installed, is that the turbo inlet temp is much lower with the cat removed and especially with a bigger downpipe. So you can run at higher speeds or with greater load for longer distances without putting as much stress on the turbo.

A few extra horsepower is just a bonus.

I've had no probs going into limp mode on the 110tdi.

Just moved my decat to my new toledo pd130 - still no limp mode.

mine has been on the car for a few months now. No limp mode just more power. It picks up better low in the rev range and i would recommend doing this to anyone!

Are they easy to fit? I've already got a milltek full catback system on there (Got it very cheap, 100 quid, was off a 1.8 turbo so got Milltek to make up a reducer sleeve for me :D). If these are easy to fit I might consider picking one up and ditching the cat

I have an apr 100 cell race cat on my cupra, and although the fitting was terrible I managed to get it on, my main worry was the emissions on the mot as some people say you need a 200 cell cat to pass...

We mine passed today with flying colours so well that i would risk it now with no cat ;-) No back pressure on the turbo! My mates have straight out exhaists on their evos and skylines and they run amazing!
