I've done it! I've finally done it!

I am sure many of you have been wanting this mod as I've seen many Leon owners (and audi/vw/etc) on other forums attempting this mod without any luck.

All you need for this mod is an OBD11 (or possibly a VCDS kit).

DISCLAIMER
The steps listed below are for educational purposes only and I do not hold any responsibility for damages/injury due to sharing this information. Performing the below steps would be voluntary.

STEPS
  1. Connect OBD11
  2. Enter Control Unit 9 (Central Electronics)
  3. Select Adaptations
  4. Search for "Leuchte" and go through every item that begins with "Leuchte" (meaning light)
  5. Some of these Leuchte items will have "Coming Home oder Leaving Home aktiv" values. Change these to Innenlicht (Interior Light). This is essentially removing the CH/LH function and replacing it with the interior light which bypasses the sensor and auto switch hardware requirement.
  6. I do a hard reset of my control unit once applying any mods, you can do this if you want.
  7. That's it, your lights will now turn on with your interior lights. Effectivly giving you CH/LH lights!

I'm currently looking to see if I can keep my interior lights on for a little bit longer in order to give it a more "Coming Home light" feel to it.

Happy modding! :) *cough* i mean don't try this at home

Feel free to share this around to "educate" other leon owners.

I have known about this for sometime now and I have also posted about it in this thread!

http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=393714

I've seen that thread, however I couldn't find this solution.

A solution I've found before was to set the internal lights in a different function slot. Which didn't work obviously, so I thought of replacing the coming home / leaving home function as that's what I'm wanting to achieve anyway and that worked.

Another solution that's available on a German forum, however that only activates the fog lights and the outer rear lights. Which just doesn't look right to me.

This will set your headlights, drls front and rear on.

Ah wrong thread I linked to!

http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?p=4688818#post4688818

I knew I had posted that you can do it

I am guessing you didn't use VCDS to code it?

I will have to have a look and see how its done in VCDS as some things have changed so may be slightly different I haven't looked recently and its been a while since I had a play!

One thing I really need to look at is the stupid fading dash when its not even dark!!

Ah yeah, I think I saw that post which lead me on the track to finding this. I thought I'd post this guide as it goes into a little bit more detail.

I used OBD11 instead of VCDS but it's the same thing really. I haven't found anything in OBD11 that I can't do so far.

How do you mean fading dash? I've posted in the OBD11 thread how to keep your dash lights on 24/7 no matter what light mode you're in.

The dash lights fade to make you think its dark enough to stick the headlights on and its too sensitive so going under a tree in bright sunshine the dash is really dark!

I found this on the OBD11 site so could have a poke at that

Code:
LED lights intensity curve picture instruments 1 (Day)
With this mod, you can change the intensity of illumination on the instrument panel giving values ??for the day.
1 - Module 17 - Code Box instruments- (25327)
2 - Adaptation
3 - Select - Dimming characteristic curve adjustement day clock dial
4 - Sub Y1-- Default (0) - Cambirar to (3) (maximum brightness)
5 - Select - Dimming characteristic curve adjustement day clock dial
6 - Sub Y2-- Default (0) - Change to (5) (Brighter)
7 - Select - Dimming characteristic curve adjustement day clock dial
8 - Sub Y3-- Default (0) - Change to (8) (Middle Brightness)
9 - Select - Dimming characteristic curve adjustement day clock dial
10 - Sub Y4-- Default (5) - Change to (8) (Darker)
11 - Select - Dimming characteristic curve adjustement day clock dial
12 - Sub Y5-- Default (30) - Change to (14) (Maximum Darkness)
It changes on the screen: Menu-Settings-Display-Gloss Select an option.

What is the difference between pro and standard OBD?

Pro means you can do the sort of stuff listed here. Standard, you can only perform certain changes which use tokens as payment for the code.

I'd recommend forking out the extra for the pro version.

Bit late to the thread! But does this turn the headlights on when unlocking or just the DRL? Trying to find a mod so only the DRL lights come on when unlocking.

Thanks!

I've had this configuration running for about 2 weeks and not noticed any issues till today, if you have your low beams on and somebody opens a door the low beams switch to the drls meaning that if a passenger were to open a door whilst driving at night it would largely reduce visibility, while unlikely to happen it could be dangerous, has anyone found a way around this?
