The current 1.9ltr tdi is 105bhp. Yes it can be tuned, chipped, flashed, whatever you want to call it. Different tuners will have different power gains for their work, so check some of them out and see what they quote.
Examples... Bell Autos, Superchips, Chipped UK, Oettinger, Star Performance, and many more. Prices are best discussed with the firm concerned.

Some of the tuners are active on here, they have their own forum.
Bell Autos, P-Torque, Custom Code and Revo spring to mind.

I suspect the remap will be roughly 135-140 bhp (i'm basing this on the remap figures for the 100 PD) and prob a similar increase in torque.

Check the tuners section for a remapper near you!

The 105 engine remaps to about 140..
Its not really advised to go much higher because the engine actually uses a smaller clutch than the PD130 does which kinda limits the tuning potential

Yeah I'm sure the TDI Bammer & Sharan is 115BHP - but when I was buying the Ibiza I had a look at a Golf GT TDI and thought it was a PD130 but it was actually a PD115.

Here is one on eBay ... with a 6-Speed box could have been easily mistaken for a 130!

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2001-Volkswag...oryZ9873QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Seems to be more common in the early TDI engines rather than the newer ones.

So there is!

Just a butchers at wisebuyers and there it is: http://www.wisebuyers.co.uk/motoring/car-specifications/Volkswagen/Golf+(1998-05)/VW002278/

First I knew of that! I thought the 115s were Bammer/Galaxy/Sharon only

Reading a magazine in a shop yesterday ('What Diesel' or something like that).

They had an article on chipping a golf mk IV with the 105 bhp 1.9TDi :D

Don't know who they used, but the results went:

105.5 bhp before
147 bhp after

181 lb/ft before
240+ lb/ft after (these figures are all from memory!)

Think they measured the performance and said it fell between the 140 & 170 2.0 TDi's in the golf (0-60 went from 11 to just over 9 seconds).

There wasnt a 105 ps 1.9 tdi in a mk IV... there was in the mk5, but the mk4 was 90, 100, 110, 115, 130, 150. last 3 were pd, 6 speed, first 3 were non-pd 5 speed, and the pds got badged as gt tdi on the whole, except I think the colour-blind work experience kid but all the badges on so some have red I's, some dont, some have red D's and I's etc...

I think the 115 was introduced a lot after the 110 and 130, and replaced the 110

The 100 was a pd engine and was slightly modified to become the 105 as it is now. The 115 was the first ever pd engine made by VW and the early ones were quite problematic so it was pulled. It reappeared a few months later with better standing. Then the 130 came along, and then the 150 with the 100 somewhere in amongst them. Somewhere along the line they also made a 90 pd which was exclusive to the Sharan, Galaxy, Alhambra in this country, but was fitted to the Golfs etc on the continent.
