MK1 LCR - black

Hi guys/girls

I have just bought a mk1 cupra R.

Its got a bit of mileage on so needs a bit of work.

I know these engine are pretty strong so might play around with it a bit.

This will be my daily for me and the mrs, got a toyota starlet for sundays (currently off road

Will have a look around on the forum and get some picture up soon.

Had the boot lock problem with the leon so i done a little mod which has worked. Still might have to mod again as the plastic bit that wears out might need beefing up (epoxy putty

Got a few problems with the leon. Its loosing coolant and oil! Only had the car 2 weeks so its pretty annoying.
The first is a coolant leak which could be from two places.
One is from the pipe that goes into the oil cooler where the oil filter fits.

the other is from the top of the radiator there is a joint. I haven't had a proper investigation to what it is but its dripping coolant from here


The oil leak is under the inlet manifold. Need to remove cover to have a proper look. Will give it some brake cleaner later to solve exactly where it leaking from (sorry pic upside down)

Found out the coolant leak is from the seam in the electric water pump that on the radiator.

The oil leak has been there a while. Looks like the rocker cover at the moment. I have cleaned it and will see if there are leaks elsewhere.
