Here is my car graph it's a TDI FR and is remapped by PKE www.pke.pt

teste.jpg

Blimey they are smooth curves, I would have to polish my carpet slippers before I drove that, I think the computer that generated it smoothed out all the little peaks & troughs, or you need to get your 4 pot in the guiness book of records for smoothness, a prime example of a slightly constructive example of a power / torque curve!

I don't know how you guys take your measure, i put my car in a power test bank(VAMAG in this case) and then in fifth gear do the test in that range of rev.

Maybe the machine polish small peak's, but I'm not sure.

How does the 'butt dyno' feel? Bit quicker or lots quicker?

Did you do a before and after run on the same rollers? If so what results did you get.

Do you know anyone with a standard non-remapped Cupra who has been on the same rolling road to compare results to.

I'd suggest without any real control figures, the figures that the RR has gave you, really mean diddly squat.

zboyd your to fast on my english :D, what is butt dyno feel???

I did only after run, they didnt have ready the dyno before, so I was there yesterday first time, he did it twice.

I know couple guys with cupras, but they are old boys, so they will propably not go there.

I was there with my best friend with megane sport, hi did 247ps and 373 nm like last year on the different dyno. So results are right.

Hi Tommycupra,

If you ran alone on the RR it doesnt mean a lot as the rollers on the day and the conditions can give dramatically different results. If you can compare to someone elses expectations or a before & after on your own vehicle then you have a relative gauge. In real terms, how did it feel afer the upgrade? A grin factor hike in power, you have a result, the figures are erelevant without a comparison. :)

Hi, when we put back the ECU and install milltek, car was faster, but not too much like I thought it will be. I cant compare, becose nobody have same mode like I have here.

I think you have the same flash as me. I have a very fast car in the dry (much faster that standard) & in the wet I have to behave until in 4th, Ive mastered the first 3 gears in the wet, its like the old days before any form of tracion control, as you throw it into a frenzy after ECU fllash. I didnt hit the RR as I didnt have the cash to compare before & after!?!?!?

Things to check;

Dump Valve - Has it split?
Is there a hole in the intercooler or loose boost pipe?

A give away for these two may be a hissing noise in the engine bay area.

As others have said, really you would need another car there to compare it to. Also, be aware that on the standard map, there is only 12bhp to be had from uprating the air intake and adding the turbo back system. I am not sure how this equates with a remap, but I would think possibly 15-20bhp.

Assuming the rolling road is correct, I would have hoped for 320bhp at the fly wheel with those mods.

Do you have access to Vagcom? It would be worth logging it to see how much air the MAF is reading. Approx 255g/s would equate to what you should perhaps be seeing.

Butt Dyno means.

Does the car feel fast to drive when your sat driving it on the open road?

Does it feel a lot faster on the open road than it did before it was tuned?

As others have said, if your getting lower power, it maybe a torn dump valve or leaking boost pipe.

But my bet is there is nothing up with the car, its the rolling road that's reading low.

Unless your feeling something holding back when you drive it, I think its fine and is probably returning very good figures. Harder to diagnose it when you didn't get it rolling roaded before the map.

do you think that there can be problem with remap???

any way I feel that car is faster right now, but its maybe my feelings becose I have the exhaust so car have different sound.

Hi Guys

I am afraid the old ''Dyno lottery'' may be coming into play a little here.

I have 11 of these models running the P-Torque re-map now, and out of the those who had a Dyno run, between 304bhp and 319bhp has been made (without exhaust system)

Have you changed your DV? These split on the Cupra models and will reduce your boost.

Send me some VAG-COM logs. I will e-mail you how to do this :)

Hi guys, I was on dyno again in friday, same like last time 285ps and 380nm. It was in KOMVET racing and they are best company in central europe for modifications on mits EVOs.
He told me that is problem in map. Do you think that its possible that the car is not ranning well becose I did first the remap and after I bought the milltek???
I will have to go to UK so maybe we can make some meeting :)
