Morning all,
So I have an 2.0 bkd altea,
I've looked after it fairly well since ive owned it (bought it in 2009, 86k on the clock) in that its had a yearly or 5000 mile oil and filter change (which ever comes first).
the turbo has sounded like a siren since the day i purchased it...
Car is (unfortunately) mainly used for short journeys, so over the weekend i took it for a 300 mile journey on motorways...
When putting my foot down to accelerate fairly rapidly, i'd get the car going into limp mode and turbo shuts down. Turn off the car, back on again and we are back to normal.
I had this about a year ago (funnily enough almost to the day!)

2015:
So googling around and reading forums suggest blocked EGR, split pipes and a whole host of other things.
As part of the drive, when i came off the motorways, i found that if i was accelerating while going round a roundabout exit (so taking a left turn off the roundabout) i could hear the turbo grinding, as if it had no oil, i'll let my foot off the accelerator, straighten up, then slowly accelerate again, and the noise isn't present... I'm thinking oil starvation due to going round the corner? Oil levels are between the middle and bottom marker, though it is now due a change.
The other errors on the logs - the window regulator was changed - i guess not reset, wipers seem to work fine so im guessing possibly same issue people have with the cruse control) and AC - needs a top up so not concerned at present..
What im looking for is some possible things to look at/check for the boost pressure and the possible oil starvation...
On a side (and possibly related or not) i'm loosing coolant, and as far as i can tell have a c block. Occasionally i get a cloud of white smoke when accelerating hard, so im suspecting egr cooler may be on its way out?
