That's very kind, thank you. The kW v1 I got from DPM performance and I'm pretty sure they were £700-720 odd iirc.

Edit. Just had a look, they're up for £725.

Quick short update, got some carbotech xp12s for my upcoming nurburgring trip and castle Combe track day. Not sure why when the ds2500s on there right now probably have less then 500 miles on them!

Probably fit them next Sunday as long as the weathers okay. Got some polishes and some dragons breath as well for the wheels.

Again, need to find the time to over the whole car on a day off for the trip in May. All that's needed to buy now are some front wipers and maybe some rear pads. Also, need to get the alignment done so thankfully not too much to do now.

Small update,

After fitting the wishbones with the superpro bushes the alignment needed doing. All the settings were standard but had the front camber set at -1.4. Was tempted to get a little toe out which made a massive difference on my accord type r but resisted, for now at least.

Got these mats which I'm really liking, the old ones were a bit loud for me.

Also fitted a stack boost gauge, read from bills posts to get the vacuum take off from the n249 pipes so done that. 2 issues though, 1 is that it doesn't go in to vacuum and 2, at idle it's showing 0.2 bar. Bit pissed off tbh, more then likely I've do e something wrong so will just show it to my friend at some point.

Location is probably a bit marmite but I had it here in my old 200sx and my 850 T5 and have always liked it.

Less then 2 weeks till my nurburgring trip. Only things left to do touch wood are to change the wiper blades, go over the car with some polish and maybe, just maybe get some ds2500s for the rear.

For the boost gauge you use a t piece and t it into the vac line coming off the fuel pressure regulator (fpr) :)

Yeah, thanks for that but I've seen bill mention to NOT use the fpr as if something were to happen you run the risk of running lean.

Right so two days left till I go to the nurburgring again, I've got carbotechs at the front but was worried about the standard pads at the back. While I'm typing this I'm realising I done the ring and castle Combe on standard rear pads without issue. Oh well.

Anyway, fitted some ds2500s on the rear.

Fingers crossed, everything is up to scratch mechanically now so went over it with some polish. I really do have to check my washing and drying process though because the car was swirl free last year but there was still some light swirling now. Anyway,

so! got back yesterday and wow, what a trip!

i did 14 laps and went out in friends cars for another maybe 5-10 laps. weather generally held out, few spots of rain a couple of times otherwise very nice. car generally performed well but after a few laps i started having a boost issue. Coming out of the karussell i lost boost and went in to limp mode. Got the car back, read the codes, checked it over and deleted the codes. may have cleaned the N75 with brake cleaner.

Went out again and i may get the order wrong but sometimes it would be okay, sometimes half way through the boost would go. cleaned the n75, the n249 valve and checked the vacuum pipes. still not 100% sure if its fixed as its hard to replicate half of a lap of the nurburgring on the road :D

May do an N249 delete and buy a new N75 valve which itself isnt more then maybe a year old and replace some vacuum pipes.

going out on the train, saw this, thought it was a good way to start the trip.

Get to the hotel and change over to the R888s. have to admit i really started liking the look of the S3 wheels.

My kind of hotel, you walk in and see a porsche. Was there last year as well.

What is there left to do but go to the 'Ring!

Mental place as always.

The brakes were recently relaquered, i think they may have got a little hot! (thats not dust)

Last but not least went out in the M3 Ringtaxi driven by none other then a member here, Dale Lomas. Have been out in the M5 i think last year or 2013 maybe but that was in the wet, this was bone dry and stupidly quick!

A friend has uploaded a video, i'll be the one screaming "NNOOOOOoooooo". It's hard to put in to words how quick we were going, the bumps taken much quicker then i've ever taken them, the braking, the braking on the bumps moving the car around which you just don't see. I even called dale a f****r :D

all in how much would you say that trip cost you, even with the insurance. Is something i have always dreamed of doing. would like to plan a stag do around it for my brother. Loves his cars and would be a dream come true for him

That's a hard one to answer kibby as a lot depends on how many laps you do and the associated fuel costs.

I stayed in a hotel but some friends done some camping which reduced costs massively but to give you an idea I paid for 11 laps, drove 14 (most I've done in one trip actually), stayed there 4 nights with breakfast included with the hotel but lunch and dinner every day in a restaurant. I took 1250 euros and came back with some cents and had to put some petrol in when back in the uk to get home. Also that doesn't include the Chunnel which cost about 120-130 quid.

To break it down a little

Hotel was 500 euros. If you can share that helps.

4 lap ticket costs 105 euros at the moment.

Fuel isn't cheap but you can get 102 octane juice nearby.

From Calais it's about 300 miles so doable on a tank unless you're doing triple figures a lot.

Ring taxi was 200 euro but shared between three people it's about 67 per person and is something we'll be doing every year now.

Food was about 40 euro per person each day. Obviously depends where you eat and how much you drink.

You won't be insured driving round the ring. It's a risk you take.

Last year I shared with someone, done about 10 laps and am pretty sure it was done in a grand.

Hope that helps somewhat.

One thing I can honestly say though is that if there's even a tiny amount of petrol in your veins you'll absolutely LOVE the place. It's just so flipping mental!!

So friday was a trackday at castle combe with my friends at T5D5 (performance volvos). It's an event that i've been to every year which and i think this is the 6th year so far. This year was a little special for me though because purely by coincidence it was my boys 10th birthday! He's a car nut like his dad and it bugs the hell out of him that he cant go on track with his dad because there's a minimum age of 16.

Anyway, i wont go on about it but the organiser, Ashok, suggested i bring him down and he'd organise a few things to make his day a bit special. I just told my son he was going to school and we'll have a little party when he gets home. 4 am i wake him up and tell him he's going to the track with me, cue dazed big smiles!

So far it's already looking like a good day for him cos he's not going school and he's missing out on homework. Then enroute we meet my friend who this year has a 996 911 C4s (he used to have a black LCR at one point so he's got some taste). We stop for fuel and the rest of the way my boy gets a ride in the porsche. I wouldnt mind that for my next birthday let alone my 10th! :D

20160617_063246_zpswf8rwufd.jpg

Bearing in mind that he still thinks he's just going to a trackday to watch, after the briefing a flipping cake's brought out for him and everyone sings happy birthday!

_JEN5810_zpseg3nimam.jpg

Briefing over, everyone heads out on track but there's another surprise. From last year or the year before the emergency services have attended with the fire engine even going out on track with passengers which is ridiculous but an absolute stroke of genius imho. Yes, we get to go out in the fire engine :D

20160617_104932_zpsfxs9kior.jpg

My boys in the front, i'm in the back holding on for dear life cos that thing rolls!

The last surprise was i was then allowed to take him out in my car :D

_JEN2729_zps4az9kc1o.jpg

In the end i took him out twice. I have to admit the first lap i was actually pretty bloody nervous! Anyway, we both had a brilliant day, him especially. I have had to tell him though not to ever expect another birthday like it cos there's no way i'm ever gonna be able to top that. For now though i'm a flipping hero! [B)]:D

For anyone interested this is the first outing

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZH4O0QDgzw

Even though he's never gonna be on this forum i have to say a massive thanks to Ashok for organising and even just allowing this to happen, much appreciated.
