Aura Radio Code from dealer doesn't work.

My radio is in safe mode after changing the battery.

After searching my documents for the code number with no luck, I took it to the local Seat dealer. They have told me the code must have been changed as the one they have doesn't work, they also said there is a sticker on the side of the head unit that indicated it has been worked on at some point and it might have been re-programmed?

Now I have no idea how to get the thing working again. The fact that a seat dealer cannot help is a little worrying, they even tried to charge me £35!

Any ideas on what my next step should be?

Cheers

try a local hifi shop or ICE specialist
they usually have a small bespectacled nerd in their back room who knows how to disable the code altogether and usually charge £10ish
my car was a personal import from Eire and the Aura was an upgrade
the dealer never registered the code and the previous owner never passed it on when I bought it Dealer disconnected the battery when they replaced the clutch then found they couldn't restart the Aura. They then lost interest when SEAT didn't have the code, left me to sort it out
local ICE dealer sorted it
