Water pump....AHHHHHH

Hey.....

so the water pump has gone on my 180........got a quote of a pump, fitted etc, and a 40K service for £500 all in.

Any ideas if this is good or not??? i live near Milton Keynes so i would love a heads up on a decent garage worth trying!

and quick, coz i can't live without my baby!!!!

she has just got new shoes and the country roads are so much fun this time of year!!!

sounds like the seat price, i found that when i priced my water pump (£20-£30) plus timing belt kit (60-80) plus the labour it wasnt far off the seat price.

however if you service the car yourself this is where you'll save the money.

almost worth considering changing the timing belt the same time as the water pump?

deffinately worth considering, mine went into awesome for water pump and cambelt, water pump just broke when removed, but cambelt was ok.but why wait for that to snap?cambelyt has to be slackened to get it out,why re-fit an 18 quid belt to see it break or need changing at a later date?get it all done.
