I think thats absolutely lovely. Plan on giving it 18months and I'll have a new one but with the revised V6 engine and the DSG box.

Is the magnetic ride system the one that uses metal particles in the damper fluid which can respond to input data when travelling to 'thicken up' the fluid and stiffen the suspension as required? If so it sounds a bit mind boggling to me.

I drove the magnetic ride suspension on the 3.2 V6 TT when we went for a test ride last month. Was far better than I thought it would be, and around town was a dream compared to our Leon. Is a nice car to drive, but the 3.2 V6 just lacked any real grunt. If there had been a highline 2.0T with 240bhp+ I could have been very tempted with it, but with 200bhp I cant imagine it would feel quick enough (none to test as yet). A really good car, but in typically Audi style just a tad inert to drive.

They're nice enough cars but not ultimately exciting. Admittedly I've never driven an RS car which will be in another league, but for instance the new normally aspirated 4.2 V8 S4 is woefully unimpressive from a driver feel perspective. Quick; yes, but not so much as any sensation of speed. The 3.2 V6 TT sounds OK on full chat but isn't anything like as quick as I'd expected in a 4wd coupe. I'll be gutted to see the Leon go as I adore it, but as circumstances change you have to make your choices. If it was all my own money I was spending there would be an M3 CS on the drive shortly.

I wasn't having a dig and I'd agree to some extent, it would be nice if we could go back to the days of a proper ur quattro again for all its faults.

I agree with your comment on cicrumstances, I'd love to own an M3 but literaly couldn't afford the depreciation and servicing bills that come along with the ownership.

Never driven a V6 TT and have heard some stories of the terrible noise that it makes rather than the roar that say a 350z would make.

If money was no object I'd love a SWB UR Quattro from Dialynx Audi, but I have to share the car with my other half and she hated the SMG shift on the M3 as it was savage. I also had an issue with her driving a 343bhp RWD car in winter. I want a fast but safe car, and the S3 kind of does that with some compromises. Her other car of choice was a C Class 320Cdi so I got off lightly really

She seemed to think that the C class looks classy in black, and I did go and look at a C55 AMG but it even that had a cup for your dentures in it. Problem with the missus is she's dead dead lazy when it comes to driving; give her an auto gearbox with cruise control and superlight steering and she'd be happy as larry wafting along - funnily enough it was preowned and it did smell of pipes and old people. Its only one step away from an invalid wagon.

Heard quite a few stories about the SMG box being hard work. When I was looking at an M3 then all I saw were SMG models but never managed to drive one.

I can appreciate the RWD thing, living in the mountains of Wales...

The new one is moving towards unisex but its still a close call in my book.

The salesman told me that the rear spoiler on the new TT extends at 73mph.

How easy is that for the coppers to nail you if they see it rise. I think it can be overriden on the dash like in the old Corrados.
