Well worth the wait - Our new Cupra is here
Well today we collected our new Leon Cupra that we ordered just after Christmas. Originally we selected some options but then dropped them in order to try and speed up delivery. We did though have side skirts, rear roof spoiler, armrest, and rear parking sensors added.
After driving back, and covering about 200 miles, we are well chuffed. Very pleased indeed. It just seems so advanced relative to my old 2003 LCR 210 and now I am totally convinced on the new shape and think the Mk1 looks outdated. As for driving it, the clutch and gear shifts seem easier, and the steering lighter, but in a positive way. I did say when I left the dealer I would take it easy on the way back but as soon as I was on the motorway I couldn't keep that promise Sounds great too!!So to give the balanced view, the only negatives are the huge rear view mirror and some of the cheap plastics used in the interior - but heh, I can live with that!! I attach some basic pics taken with camera phone so don't expect too much from them. I have attached specific pics of the armrest, rear roof spoiler, and you can also see the rear sensors to help those of you still deciding whether to go for some of these options. Oh, and the colour, looks stunning in the sun, really shows it off well. http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u...ra/Armrest.jpg http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u...ra/Spoiler.jpg http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u...raRearSide.jpg http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u...CupraFront.jpg http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u...praFronton.jpg |

Looks great, pretty much how mine will be, but I've waited for everything else I wanted.
![]() I ordered around the same time, and mine is likely no more than 2 weeks away now.

To be honest its not bad for us lot that stuck with the factory options as an extra 2 week wait is nothing!!! We ordered ours the 23rd Jan and was originally told car wouldnt be here till June and did we want to scrap options as it would help get the car quicker!!

![]() But I wanted the extra options and was fully prepared to wait. Though its become increasingly binding without my own car, I'd wait longer still if I had to. But it should be at the dealer this week. Cuprastu's looks great though, and glad i've gone for the spoiler and skirts too.

Cupra stu - when you get a chance could you possibly take a shot of the armrest open with the aux access?

I was dead lucky in that I got to see Stu's car as he was collecting it this morning as I was at the dealers at the same time. He recognised my mutterings about parking sensors ...
Hid car looks... incredible in the flesh. He looked... extremely happy I had a feeling the temptation to hit it would be too hard to resist! ![]() Seriously, the side skirts look brilliant. I really have to get some of those for my FR!

I quite agree with you, an extra two weeks is well worth the wait - if I had known that was all it would have been I would have hung on as well - but I was told June (mid to late) like you was, and for me that was just too long (perhaps I am too inpatient?). Anyway, no looking back, I am very happy with my poverty spec!!

Hi Scott, No probs, best I could do with my camera phone (no proper digital camera at mo), one is a bit blurred as I tried to go close up... http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u...a/Image037.jpg http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u...a/Image036.jpg So basically I can't use my aux in if that is what you were trying to establish as there is no cut-out whole or slot at the bottom to allow anything to be plugged into it. If you want any more pics just let me know. Stuart |

Looks nice and if I had gone for a Cupra then it would have been one like this ... still a shame that on the top of the range car you have to spend around 500 notes on extras to give it a better look
Will be nice to see some on the roads and no doubt when I do I will wish I had one on some occasions but then not others ... cars eh! |

Ed30 has the same engine ... but yes your quite right you would need another few thousand ! I'll stick with the Golf for the time being, I feel its a good replacement to the LCR and will give me similar fun and power. Turns out the Mrs likes the new Leon so might end up having one anyway some time down the line. |
