Question clutch problems on my LCR 03 plate AMK

im having problems with my clutch.

i work in a garage/motorfactors (not as a mechanic, in the parts dept.) so im getting the parts + work done there.

the origanal problem was the pedal would go to the floor and i had no clutch.
we traced this fault to the slave cylender (master cyl is ok).

so out with the gearbox.

while the gearbox was out, i decided to replace the clutch and flywheel as they where showing signs of wear and to save future problems. so with the new flywheel, new clutch and new slave cylender, we put the gearbox back in.

next job was to bleed the system, it was a bit of a pain, but it was done in the end, the clutch pedal was back to normal, allbe it a little light.

the clutch wont clear. cant change gear with the engine running.

we have called the LUK tech help line, they say to change the master cyl as well, they didnt give a reason, just said that because we have changed all the other parts it must be that. but that was tested before anywork started, so we know thats ok.

we have called seat, they say thet there are a right pain to bleed, and thats probably the problem.

all the parts fitted are LUK, i sell them everyday, and have never had problems with them.

the tecnitian thinks that the fingers in the clutch are not right, too weak. so i have ordered another clutch, and the box will have to come out again on tusday.

has anyone had this problem before? anything else it might be?

any suggestions or comments welcomed.

R u sure it was the SLAVE.... I have a standard LC and had the same problem with the clutch..... after phoning around several garages the opinion is that 9 out of 10 times its the MASTER..... As I don't trust garages and there is several hundred's of pounds difference between the 2, I decided to take a chance and get the Master changed at my local Garage.... Clutch all Ok now.

its done 41k miles

i have read on this site that its more commonly the master cyl. be he did carry out sevral tests and diagnosed it as the slave. he might be wrong tho, but i would think it unlikely. i told him it is most commonly the master, and he did sevral tests on it. he a good mechanic, but even then mistakes are still made. so im not really sure!

Out of curiousity how long does it take to remove the gear box from a LCR and do a clutch change.

back on the road at last!

the origanal problem was the slave cyl.

the first clutch kit fitted had a faulty pressure plate, fitted another today, and all is working as it should....until next time.
