Get it run in and then look into it.

So that'll be next week then

Whilst down at Premier just, I looked at a couple of TDi Sports (do TDi SEs get the extra dials on the dash?) Some had Dunlop Sport 2000 tyres, some had the Bridgestone Tourango (sp?).

Does getting a tdi chipped have roughly the same effect as getting a petrol one chipped though obviously to a lesser extent as its diesel?

don't think the SE models get a volt meter and oil temp gauge.

Chipping probably reduces the lifespan of the engine but I only intend to own the car for 3 years so what do I care. It certainly makes it go quicker.

Judging by the writeups on here about the APR/Revo chip, I think you might be wrong with the "lesser extent" bit !

The APR/revo chip takes you from 130 to 180 bhp, with 300lbft torque IIRC.

Bloody hell! Didnt know it would have that effect. I'd be interested to see what a tdi drives like after chipping. Any of you guys going to Stealth on Sunday?

both RB5 and myself are going to be there so I'm sure one of us will take you out in one. !st and 2nd gear acceleration is ineffective as you can't get good grip. 3rd 4th 5th and 6th gear are superb. Plus you still get good MPG.

CONGRATULATIONS CHRIS !!

You will not be disappointed believe me, I have still got the grin facter even after 2 months of ownership although chipping has something to do with that.

Hope everything goes well for you when you pick it up.

Rock on

Nice one Chris. When do you pick it up, or have you already?

The insurance more than makes up for missing out on the APR sale then (says me who go the benefit on neither!)

Next week I would hope. I've got the insurance form to fill out tonight and I'll drop it back in tomorrow morning.

Got a 500 mile round trip planned for that weekend, so great chance to get it part run in.

Premier run me this morning to say it's ready and did I want the reg number to sort out insurance.

Dave's been away, so had missed me giving the free insurance form to Tim last week. Waiting on a call back
