ipod ---> aura + changer?
Before I get shot down in flames, yes I have searched, and after reading about quarter of a million posts that nearly answer my question, i was starting to glaze over a bit....
Idealy I want to hardwire my ipod into my aura hu and retain my cd changer, in my 53 LCR, so thats the cassette head unit (cassettes, remember them!). Had a look at the dension website, but to be honest, im not the shiniest spanner in the snap on chest, and they lost me after the bit that said welcome! also there a bit on the steep side! If its not posible to retain the cd changer, then which is the correct kit from connects2 (seem cheaper than dension), again, looked at the website, and I was ok until they gave me a choice between prewired and not prewired , wtf!, how the hell should I know, I cant even wire a plug! Basically I dont want to have to pull my dash apart to only find i've ordered the wrong bits, its gonna take me about a fortnight to workout how to get the hu out as it is! cheers fellas If this is covered by another thread, then post a link and I'll get me coat....

Don't know if you can tbh, i saw an abaptor on ebay, but you have to loose the CD player with the ipod interface as far as i can tell.
what i did was buy one of those cassette things with a wire which you use like a tape cassette, and plugs into the head phone jack on my mp3 player, although the quality isn't brill it works reasonable well. The other option is you can get an ipod transmitter which sends the sigenel to the radio via FM transmission, saw this on the Gadget Show C5 a few months ago, seemed to work very well. Unfortunetly i can't remember the name of the maker.. but i found these doing a search of ebay, which might do the trick http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/5-in-1-White-F...QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/6in1-CAR-FM-RA...QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/B-N-Stereo-FM-...QQcmdZViewItem |
