Spare key keeps setting off alarm?

Put my car in for some work today - went back to collect it and when I got the spare key back (the one i'd given them for the day) I kept setting the alarm off.

I'd unlock it, lock it again and within 30 seconds the alarm went off again.

Did this 3 or 4 times but I had the remote with me too - that sorted it.

Confused - what happens when the battery goes flat in my remote? The neighbours won't like me then...not that they do now...

after you unlock it you get 30 seconds to turn the ignition on. if you dont then it will go off, even if you just lock it again
