Who said Leon speakers were carp?

Because I really don't think they are now, they just need a better signal...

Only recently have I realised how good my "system" sounds now, and the "system" comprises nothing more than a new HU

Those standard midbass's can produce plenty of bass too, almost like there's a sub in there

My passenger side speaker or tweater sounds rattly when bass is playing. Do they ever work loose from the screws?. I take it it's a door card job off to fix?.

Ive always said this.

Speakers are very good, standard aura HU is very bad! An upgraded HU makes a whole lotta difference

I've also been arguing this point since I got the LCR

My 'system' comprises of a Becker Mexico Pro HU and the stock speakers and it sounds great... better in fact than my Celica did with various decent HU's and Rockford Fosgate components with a nice dose of sound deadening!

I still see no point in changing the ICE at all

What's a good head unit to get though ?

Saying that, I'm more than happy with my Leon's system... This is my second Leon (the last one was only a 110tdi) and I managed to blow up 4 speakers - got them all replaced under warranty though heh heh :o)

I think this is because apparently seat use rainbow components.
I haven't been able to confirm this yet as not had mine out but if anyone has heard of rainbow before they will know how amazingly good they are.

well thats what i thought but i went to buy some (almost top of range rainbows ) for another project i got and the guy noticed my LCR and said do you realise that seat use a very basic form of rainbows in their cars now!!

its not a range you can buy over the counter so doubt they will be quite as good but they must be fairly good

I'm running an Eclipse 8445E HU, which helps as it's probably the best sounding HU with speaker outputs you can buy. Should be at £600 though
