Next year im planning on taking the girlfriend to italy to see my dad. by then i should have either a 1.9 tdi 110 sport or a cupra.

its going to be about 3000 miles round trip as we are planning on doing some shopping and site seeing on the way, paris, rome, vennice, milan etc...

i was just wondering really if i have any thing i would need to check on the ibiza before this long trip, bar the obvious, is there anything that is liable to break, go wrong etc that anyone else has come up agianst on long trips.

im a member of the RAC and have european cover, but at the same time wondered if there was any particual components that may need changing to last the trip as i dont really fancy breaking down!

its more than likely going to be a 1.9 tdi (slightly modded engine wise and cupra kit) so MPG would be far better than the cupra and prob better pulling itself up all those swiss alps.

Any advise.
