What price would you pay

Hi All

Looking at a Seat Ibiza S reg 50 000, Miles Cupra Sport 2.0 ltr Clean needs 2 new front tyres and the windscreen has a chip in the middle, one small dent near NS rear. How much would you pay?
The lowest they said was £2400
The Local Seat dealer told me £1300 trade in value, private sale £1700, trade sale price £2200

Nice car

The cultch is heavy is this normal or just that the car hasn't been used for 6 weeks

Cheers
James

8v or 16v? Abit steep for an 8v but probably right (looking at autotrader) for a 16v if the mileage is genuine.

Yep mileage genuine know the owner previous to the current shop run's only but think the cost was high if I need to put new tyres and windscreen, not sure what Valve,

Where is the engine No. on the block as could not see it any where?

What are the cost of new tyres on Seat alloys ?

When you look at the engine you can tell the difference between the 8v and 16v.
The 16v has DOHC across it.
New windscreen would cost but if you buy it first get it insured then claim a windscreen off the insurance, normally around £60 excess but you get a new fitted windscreen.
Regarding tyre, depends what make and size. You can get some decent ones off the net for about £50 each.

Think it might be 8v

what sort of price if it is?
Need a better car I tow a N12 carbon Sailing dinghy and looking for a bit more fun and the colour matches the boat too. At the min a 1.4 astra is no good for getting out of cornwall with!!!

If I can get it for £2400 and every thing sorted is this an ok price or still a bit high.

cheers

8v should be more than capable of towing a dinghy.
Looking at autotrader, if you got it with everything sorted i suppose its a decent price. Its about what i paid for mine 2 years ago with similar mileage.
Especially if you know the previous owners should be ok.

No air con if it's a 'cupra sport'. If it just the GTi then it will have air con, and a sun roof IIRC.

£2400 for valver? i think that is a bit steep because although its probably a really nice car its coming to that milage where its going to start to play up on you every now and again ...your gonna need to do a major service including cambelt (if not done already). i dont mean to ruin it but in my opinion thats just a bit too much for it esp if its not a 16v.

...or am i wrong?

I dont think your wrong but if you go according to whats available at the moment then its about right. I know people on here pick up some real bargains (not that im jealous lol) but i assume they knew the people selling!

errm nahh i didnt know the person at all, in a way you get what you pay for, my car had a few problems that i managed to sort out most over the 2-3 months i got it and the rest im dealing with it, i cant afford to pay £2400 for a car right now, so thats why its my opinion.

...also the previous owner was going through a divorce and the car reminded him of his wife, so he just wanted to get rid of it.
