Question 15mm spacers

just got a set of HR 15mm spacers for the ibiza.
i just wondered if anyone else was running these?
are they ok to use with longer bolts or should i get some hubtecnics which bolt to the hub and then the wheels bolt to the spacer?

as long as you buy good quality bolts they should be fine.

if they are hubcentric - which I think the HR ones are - then you are fine with longer bolts or studs/nuts. I've run hubcentric ones on my ibiza for over 3 years and 15 or so track days with no problems.

i was after hubtecnic ones but these ones just have four bolt holes.so was just going to get eight bolts 15mm longer than standard?
i thought anything bigger than 10mm spacers should be hubtecnic?
will these be ok with longer bolts or should i just go and get some hubtecnic ones instead?

We may be talking cross purposes. When I mean hubcentric, it means that the spacer has a recess on the back edge, which fits over the lip on the rear disk. The spacer then has a lip on its outer edge. So if you put your wheel on the spacer, it will rest on the lip, and the wheel will be perfectly centred on the axle as the central lip from disc to spacer, spacer to wheel keeps everything in check.

The spacers you refer to, where the spacer bolts to the hub, and then new bolts go into the spacer tend to be the ones where you want to convert your wheel bolt PCD - e.g. to fit original Porsche wheels to your car.

So back to your question - if your spacers have a lip, then you are fine. If they don't, then personally I think you need to be careful when tightening everything up as there is the potential, however small, of getting the wheel not sitting central on the hub. That lip, however small, does carry some force and helps keep everything lined up.

PS - Are you still after that parcel shelf?

i got some 40mm bolts today, they are radial seats on the ronal multispokes.
like you said, the seat and vw alloys are radial seats and after market ones normally have tapered seats.
fitted the wheels and 15mm spacers and couldnt beleave how different it handled.
now i just need to order a lowering kit and hopefully that will improve the handling even more.

as for the parcel shelf, forgot all about it to be honest and went and got one from the scrap yard.thanks for your offer anyway
