Within a weekend of having my car I had booked it into Dragon Tinting for the windows to be tinted, with having this sort of colour dark tints to hide behind come in handy :blush2:

On the pics you can also so the slot cut out of the rear splitter and the faded "Cupra Sport" decals

Month later, I was coming to a stop at a juncation when the car ahead shot past the white line and decided to reverse back so he wasn't on the main road. Only problem was that he didn't look behind him and hit the front of my car :cray:

He said he would pay for the damage out of his pocket to save his no claims, so took the car into the bodyshop to have the front wing replaced and bumper repaired and the bodyshop kindly ordered in a new rear splitter and colour coded it for me, also they removed the faded decals off to :)

Think the car looks much cleaner without the decals but after I took them off I found out that they very rare to come across now, specially new ones.... so always on a look out for them.

More bad news, beginning of December 2004 3 cars in my car park, including mine were broken into... They broke the lock and bent the door back. Took my Sony Cd Player, all my CD collection, rear shelf with my 6x9 speakers in, pair of shoes, jacket and a gallon of oil in the boot.

The police came up told me to go down the police station to get finger prints but had no luck of retrieving any. Ended up buying a new cd player, shelf, speakers and £200 damage to the door, in less then 3 months the car had been reversed into and broken into

After an expensive Christmas with saving for holidays, buying Christmas presents and repairing my car. I decided the car had a bit of a bad year so thought a nice new exhaust would be an idea, since the back box wasn’t looking to good anyway.

So down to prospeed and had a sports cat and cat back system.

So after my original plan of not doing anything to my car and leaving it basically standard, after looking at all of my mates cars it made mine look like a 4x4.

The pic gives you a rough idea of what I mean lol

Decided to get a set of FK Highsport Coilovers as a lot of the seat and vw boys were using them and all had good things to say. A phone call to Awesome GTi and two weeks later I had them straight from Germany.

We didn't know how low to go at first so just left them to how they were set out of the box. After me moaning about the rubbing for a while, I wanted to higher it a bit but with everyone commenting on how nice it looked slammed we left it at that. And I'm glad I did listen to them all :)

Then in the snow had a slight accident and damaged one of my alloys, a week before a rolling road day we had arranged. So I was then in a mad rush to find another set of alloys asap.

First my original idea was to go for a set of OZ Super Turismo WRC in 16". Rung up Demon Tweaks and they said they have an order coming in on the Wednseday with them alloys on it, so great ordered them there and then but he said he will double check. Had a phone call off the bloke an hour later saying yes the 15s will be there by Wesnesday, asked what 15s are you on about I wanted 16"... he miss heard me [:@]

Turned out OZ don't make 16" often and I had to what 2 months for them

So cancelled that order and thought I would try some other companies, looking in all the car mags and phoned everyone of them and they all said the same, "None in the UK at the moment, have to wait till the new year"

So a change of plan in the wheel department, I know I wanted to go for a rally slag / motorsport look and I've always liked Compomotive so thought I would go for the MO.

Now here's another problem, they weren't sure that I would have the alloys by Saturday already for the rolling road. The bloke said the delevery would be in to them Friday morning so I would have them Saturday morning/afternoon and bear in mind I had to have the tracking sorted to but couldn't get down to the garage because I needed this new alloys to get there

One of my mates then came to the rescue, he offered to take me up Friday morning to get them. This means we leave early Friday morning, get up to Demon Tweaks, collect the wheels, get home by 2ish and fit them and have the tracking sorted. But things never go to plan do they???

Got up there nice and early and what a big store! Told them I was there to collect the alloys and waited as they fitted the tyres, so had a nice look around. Came back to get them and the bloke at the counter asked for £xxx.xx amount of money, me thinking that I paid for them all over the phone before going up but it was just the deposit

Sitting there now thinking how to get the money because I lent the money for the alloys till my money came through the follow week. Phoned the bank to the transfer would take 3 working days, tired transferring money from my parents credit card to my bank, no wont do it. I haven't got an overdraft so thought sort one out now, phoned the bank asked for the amount of money, had the reply it isn't a yes but isn't a no we get back to you in 24 hours. Told them I needed it asap so ended up paying £20 for an overdraft for 30 working days, sorted paid for the wheels in full and off we went running well behind time.

Got home about 4:40pm and Ben & I fitted the wheels straight on and to add to the sh!t day it was p!ssing down with rain as we were fitting them. Managed to get them on fine and down the garage to get Wolze to sort my tracking just before they closed.

So after a day of problems and rushing around, I got the car all sorted for the rolling road :)

Here's some pics of the car with her new shoes

Had the car Rolling Roaded at Tommis on the Bridgend Massive Rollout and pulled 158bhp, 8bhp over standard with sports cat, cat back system and panel filter. Wasn't really over the moon with the result but had a bet with all the boys that if it pulled less than 150bhp I was gonna sell it.... so its staying and working on to get 170bhp for the next rolling road day :)

Right then, mission now is to get more power around 170bhp and I'll be happy. So after searching like crazy for a manifold because Supersprint does one but that’s for the LHD model and it would catch the steering rack or something. I found out that TSR produce a 4-1 manifold and downpipe, so ordered that straight away and down to prospeed to get it fitted, would have did it myself but there was not bracket on the sports cat to downpipe it was welded together.

Noticed a lot of difference the car picks up better and rev more freely :)

Fitted a Pipercross Vector Induction Kit and a nice air feed pipe and used another air feed that I found laying around the house to fit into the centre of the fliter where there is a little hole, every little helps :)

Didn't think much of the sports cat I had, specially after I found out that it was a 300cpsi [:@]

When I was down prospeed to fit my exhaust I had asked about a 100 cpsi and he said it'll cost £239 thought stuff that and asked about a decat £80 with the brackets to. Anyway went home and checked my receipt I had from when I had the sports cat and cat back system fitted, worked it out I paid about £230 for the cat I had on there now (300 cpsi).... oh how don't I love being raped [:@]

Anyway went down there, since he done everything else on the car and had the sports cat removed and the decat fitted. With the manifold and decat on the car now it made a hell of a difference and was much louder

There was one problem with the manifold. There isn't enough clearess on the downpipe for the bulk head, so they had to 'modify' the bulk head with a nice bar :) I did ask them at prospeed to do this but didn't want to risk damaging anything, which is fair enough... if they not confident to do it I would rather know than have them cause damage.

Basically this lack of clearness means then when changed gears quick and hashly the manifold would knock aigisnt the bulk head and trust me you hear and feel it in the car

With this happening all the time it cracked the exhaust, so another trip down to prospeed and charlie kindly repaired it for free :D, he did recommend in having a flexie pipe fitted as the exhaust is all stainless steel now but couldn't do it that day as he was busy and told me to phone in the week.

Had an idea on how to stop the manifold hitting the bulk head.... stop the engine from moving so much and how do u do that? Fit a set of Vibra Technics Engine Mounts :)

So a phone call to Badger 5 and ordered a full set of Vibra Technics Fast Road engine mounts :)

Mat a friend that has also got an Mk2 Ibiza fitted them for me after doing his the same day. Started the engine and everything inside the car vibrated, very nice. Took the car out for a test drive and because the front engine mount was much short then the OEM one the engine drops a little and this made the manifold vibrate on the bulk head but it didn't knock though the gears so that solved that problem.

Back on the ramps and the modification with a nice bar commenced, took it out for another drive and no more vibration from the manifold :)

The worse thing I found about the Ibiza when I first went for a drive in it and the gear changes, the throws were so long… from 2nd into 3rd your arm was fully extended and going into 5th with the Tom Tom charging you would get your finger stuck between the charger and gear knob.

Looking on the for sale section and found someone was selling one, as he put it onto his wife’s car and she didn't like it, so he took it straight back off. So had a bargain at £80 which reduced the throw by 45%

My mate Mat again kindly helped me fit it, said 30mins on the box took more like just over an hour lol.

Here’s some pic with it fitted.

Went up to Westec for a look around and some food on the SW-CC Rolling Road Day on the 14/05. Decided to throw my car on, I know that the new modifications can’t be compared to my last because of the different rollers but might as well see what it was pushing out. The manifold, decat and filter did their job and the car managed 171 bhp.

Had a service last year and had the usually stuff changed, oil, spark plugs, etc…. but never did the leads because I had red on there when I brought the car and couldn’t find any at the time and didn’t fancy the normal black ones. So the other month came across some Meaglead one’s so brought them and put them on.

Another bit of bad luck for me, some chav went past my car and threw a stone at my bonnet

Took down his registration number, went to the police station and reported it. Hour later they have pulled over the boy, impounded the car and the boy admitted to damaging my car and said he will pay for the damage.

Had the bonnet repaired and sprayed and also had my front splitter cut out.

That little problem with the boy caused my plans to fall behind. Wanted the car to go up to Warwickshire to a place called Stealth Racing and have a Port and Polished Head, Schrick 268 Cams and a Re-map and VR6 clutch fitted, anyway later than I wanted I booked the car in for 24th of July and only a few of the Massive knew but slowly got out to more people knew after some drunken chats. Me and my old man left half 5 in the morning he followed me up in his jeep so I had a lift home, thank god because I would have had to catch the train back home otherwise.

Got up there at 8 after the Tom Tom politely told us we reached out destination in some village! So asked the postman where Stealth Racing was, just 5 mins up the road : )

Got there before the place was even opened so a nice bacon roll didn't go a miss, Vince the bloke that runs Stealth Racing turned up had a nice chat to him and he had the head and cams all set up waiting for my car and noticed a good few very clean Mk2 Golf's up there having work done. I knew I've gone to the right place then, as all the cars there were either ABF or K-Jet engines.

Got home and had to drive my beloved post man pat coloured Jeep around for a week while I told everyone my “Gearbox” went and I couldn't get 3rd gear lol.

The car was due back the Friday of that week but had a phone call Thursday afternoon from Vince telling me the engine is built but when he went to map it the Lambda Sensor wasn't reading quick enough and had to order a new one for Monday.

Monday morning had a phone telling me he's half way through the mapping, just letting the engine cool down. My old man was back in work so he couldn't take me up there and Rogers kindly offered to take me up there when I need to, in his good old Starlet lol.

Phoned Rogers in work, he managed to finish a bit early and off we went to collect the car. Filled the tank, cost me £21 and with the economy light on green all the way up took half a tank, well impressed with the mpg on that little thing lol.

Anyway back to my car, got up there showed me the graph and the car pulled 190.2 bhp and 150.3 lbs ft. As he was typing up the invoice he gave me the keys to the car and told me to take it for a spin down the road (hadn't even paid at this point) and what the difference to the car, screams like crazy all the way to 7500 revs with my smile getting bigger and bigger as it screams more! :D

Brought these of eBay for £300 for the calipers, carriers, braided hoses, pads and disc's.

Then Rob said he could get the discs grooved for me if I had new ones... brought new discs and decided on new pads too Ferodo DS2500.

Here's photos of the disc's after they were grooved

DSC00039.jpg

DSC00040.jpg

RS Rob then had them dripped in zinc at a local platers to provent the parts that are not touched by the pads from rusting.

Here's a pic showing them after they were dripped in zinc and next to the standard 280mm discs.

SP_A0009.jpg

After a little problem of missing an adaptor that connects the braided hose to the brake servo pipe, I managed to get hold of some and finished off fitting the brakes

Here's the final pics of the disc's and calipers on the car :)
