02M and 02J Engine mounts in two densities, street density and track density

As above.
These are avaialbe through a company in America, I have been incontact with him and gotten this responce

"I am still selling these and the retail price on them is 300US. How big of a discount depends on how many orders you are doing. If you are buying say 5 sets I can do #edit#/set. If you buy 10 sets I can do #edit#/set and shipping to UK is approx 90US. Of course that also depends on the weight."

These have been very popular on VW Vortex and are waaaayyyy cheaper than the ones I've been quoted for in Britian. The dollar/pound price is still great just now so at 10 sets this is approx £115 for the engine mounts and the dog bone mount plus shipping.

See below information

We are VERY excited to be announcing the release of our 034Motorsport Street Density and Track Density transmission mounts for the Mk4 5-speed 1.8t applications!
We've been testing these mounts for some time to ensure they are reliable and meet the criterion for the intended use - results so far are very exciting!

WHAT THEY ARE: A new line of rubber motor mounts made FOR us by OE suppliers to OUR specifications.

STREETDENSITY Mounts
solid rubber mounts with a 50 durometer about 25% stiffer than stock, this means they still ride smooth and quiet but provide a marked improvement in drivetrain dampening over stock mounts.

Livable street performance with serious sport intentions. Note, don’t mistake these mounts with OE mounts, though they look almost identical, the rubber stiffness very vastly, think of these mounts as what the factory would have produced if they weren’t catering the car to whiney cheerleaders.

TRACKDENSITY Mounts:
built with an 80 durometer rubber, approx 90% stiffer than stock, these are solid for all practical purposes and result in ZERO drivetrain movement. Vibrations from the engine are noticeably increased but not horrible. Definitely not smooth and quiet like stock mounts, but in return you get a completely locked down drivetrain with NO slop or deflection. These are perfect for the street/track enthusiast who doesn't mind a marked increase in vibration from the drivetrain, or the hardcore drag racer or track driver who is eliminating all slop in the chassis.

Performance with serious sport intentions. Note, don’t mistake these mounts with OE mounts, though they look almost identical, the rubber stiffness very vastly, think of these mounts as what the factory would have produced if they weren’t catering the car to whiney cheerleaders.

NOTE, THIS IS NOT AN OE MOUNT AND ARE NOT AVAILABLE FROM ANY OTHER SOURCE - These are built by an OE supplier to 034Motorsport specifications.

These mounts will fit all MK4 1.8t and 2.0 5-speed cars, and includes the motor mount, transmission mount, and dogbone. Priced less than OE mounts, these are a no brainer for the street or track enthusiast.

There are sepperate prices for just the engine mounts, I will get this if anyone is interested but thought most people would jump at the chance of a better dog bone mount that will control their transmittion better without having to stick to the nylon ones.

I'm planning on ordering these pretty soon but if there is good interest and people need a month or so to save up then I'll easily wait for them.
The comment of the guys who have these on their cars is that unless your car is solely a track car then the Street density ones are the ones to go for.

Right there are four of us interested in this GB just now.
We need one more person to get us the $240 set plus shipping. In real money thats £120 plus shipping and if you've looked into this in any way you'll know this is a great deal.

I might also be interested. I'm planning on spending around 1k on mods later in the year (money/situation permitting) and I'm mainly going for handling and a few engine part upgrades so at this price it's something extra I could easily justify adding to the list.

With 7 people interested now I'll get more info ASAP.
I'll look into either getting it sent out individually, getting sent out to me for the Scottish guys and one person for the English guys or Get them all sent to me and I'll distrubute them all.
It entirely up to the individual how they want to play it.
I'll get back to you on this

SO, will these fit the LCR ?? You say only 5 speed gearboxes above, but you have a LCR right juniorsenior.

Also I already have an uprated dog bone (polybush) - will this one (streetdensity) be any better??

Favourable anyswers to the above and I will stick my name down,
Cheers.

Well what the script with this is that the VAG MK4 1.8T have 5 speed boxes in the USA.
Our transmission is the 02M which is the same coupled to the same engine.
I have the uprated poly bush in my LCR and as I understand poly bushes have a life span, this has been in for about 2 years and was thinking about changing it anyway. The problem with poly bushes is that because they are so hard and resilient they don't give (much) but they also don't reform when compressed like rubber can.
I'm going to get the full set, fit the street density dog bone mount and see how I like it. If I don't like it I'll sell it (this covers 02m and 02J so shouldn't be a problem to sell as that covers loads of VAG's).
I only asked for a price for the set as the difference between the set ansd the engine mounts themselves was very little coupled with the possible revenue from selling either the new dog bone mount or my old one with poly bush made it a more attractive proposition.
But to cut the crap I think the new dog bone mount will give all the benifits of the uprating but with none of the negatives of the poly ones.
I'm going for the street density ones, I'm going to be tracking my car quite alot so will benifit from the uprated bush but without getting a huge amount of vibration through the cabin that the stiffer ones on the market 'might' give.
I have a friend that just fitted OEM ones on a car the same age but less miles than mine. He said the difference was very noticable. So I'm thinking with a little upgrade in Durometer (10 points) I'll get the best of both worlds but with none of the vibrations (as my car will continue to be my road/family car aswell.

Yes they will.
They fit all 02M transmissions which include the LCR.
As for fitting its a case of supporting the engine, unbolting the old mounts and fitting the new ones. Same for dog bone mount but support the gear box.

Would it be possible to get a price for all replacement bolts as it may be cheaper than buying them over here.

Heres the reply I got from the guy about firm shipping costs.
I asked this before the point was brought up about the bolts.

Shipping 1 set with or without the dogbone you are looking @ 75US
Shipping 2 Sets you are looking @ approx 135US
Shipping 10 sets you are looking @ about 300US if so much.

This is going off an estimate of an order i did to UK last year.

I can drop ship all the mounts for you to wherever you want. The price of the mounts still remains @ #edit#/set if you buy 10 sets.

The customs aspect could be about 20% of the price, this is very unlikely to be added but if it was this is covered in the GB discount for buying 10 sets.

Let me know how you want to play this with shipping, collecting money etc.
Buy the sounds of it we could all pay our own to the guy and these could be sent out in any quantity we needed.

Sorry if this messes you about but I've decided not to modify my car now as I need the money I planned to spend for more important things.

Sorry I don't know how much it would be. It's a very quick and easy job so I would suggest 1 hours labour max.
