Hi all,
my work colleague who lives in Gillingham in Kent just said to me he saw a Seat Ibiza estate, like mine but obviously with the longer estate back to it! i never knew they bought out an estate version, if so they must be extremely rare as i have never ever seen one!! its rare enough that i see a Seat Ibiza GTI round my way, let alone an estate version!!! anyone else seen one or has see one which is modified, anyone got any pics to show?

Yeah i saw one on monday at the dealers, why do they have a Cordoba in the forst place ? it looks like the Ibiza with a boot ?
At least a Golf and Bora have different front ends. And why have small car estates anyway, surely the point of an estate is for increased space ?

leo, the polo has the usual hatch, classic and also the estate, the cordoba was named the cordoba instead of ibiza classic because its far more superior in its road holding and handling!!
toledo is a leon with a boot, why not make a toledo estate, there was talk of it at one point. |

Leo - the cordie has a usefully sized boot for me plus one
crap for a family though. but it managed to transport me, kev, 2 bikes, 4 spare 16" rims all our kit, 4 bikes wheels and beer & food much more useful than the ibiza, and it has better handling in 'normal' use - though I miss being able to scandinavian flick the car M

earlier gtis were 1.8 16v and 2.0 8v and were 4 door newer 97-99 came badged as sx 1.6 8v 1.9tdi 2.0 16v and the very rare 2.0 8v cuprasport. other smaller capacity engines were also available but only as 4 door in any year models. the cordobs on track handles better in my opinion because its more balanced, the ibiza end will give way long before the cordoba does and when th cordoba goes all four wheels go which makes for an easier and more dependable controlled correction. next week: why leon cupra r's are crap!! ![]()

All I can say is, the Cordoba I've got while my Beeza is in the bodyshop (new shape, 130TDI) handles like a disaster area. Inspires no confidence, which is fine because any attempt to find the limit generally results in a trouser moment!
But maybe the older ones were better.
