The shocks will not keep the car up but if the shocks are bottomed out just now the uprated shocks will allow the car to drop a little. But I doubt the ride height will change

Hi,

Thank you for the photos and all that info. That was very good of you and i think i am going to try out the coilovers because they will only cost me £217 from ebay i and my friend is a mechanic so i wont have to pay much at all to fit them. I can always revert back to shocks if i dont like the ride i guess. All i have to do now is find some top mounts and spacers.

Adam, what size nuts did you need to cover 15mm spacers? My coilovers arrived this morning only ordered them 2 days ago.

my coilovers were a LOT better than standard..im back to standard height now and it feels like driving a boat compared..

Punchit - the bolts came with the spacers so not a clue. PM Jimski, as he bought em off me and could probly measure em for you.

I wouldn't dispute that and never do, what I do question is that you get a better drive/ride and don't just end up with a load of adjustment you are ill informed to set up, or that will just corrode and be unusable over time. A spring / damper option is likely to offer far greater compliance, stability and ride than coilovers set up by Joe Public, particularly on public roads.

Just measured one of the nuts and it seem the thread is 22mm long. So if i get me some 10 mm spacers i will need 33mm thread on the new nuts is this correct?

Hi all i fitted my coilovers yesterday and WOW what a difference to the handling it has made in a positive way. The car feels much more glued to the road and the ride quality is near enough the same as just having lowering springs.
It was very easy doing the rears but the fronts were more time consuming but i did it with the help of my good friend who is a mechanic. Im so happy with them cheers all for the posts.
