Hi Guys,
newbie here. Just wondering if anyone knows the torque settings for the front hub bolt on a Leon TDI 140? I have to remove the CV Boot tomorrow :censored:

Thanks
Richard.

Cant remember the bolt torque off hand but you will struggle getting the CV joint off the shaft so here is a top tip. Get the old driveshaft bolt and cut the washer off it. Then wind it back into the driveshaft. Now it is effectively a bit longer it will go into the joint and lock against the end of the driveshaft, keep turning and it will pop the joint off for you.

This might help from a general Leon Mk 11 manual, but I am no expert

HEXAGONAL HEAD BOLT
Loosen
– With the vehicle resting on its wheels, the bolt should not be loosened more than 90º, so as to not damage the wheel bearing.
– Raise the vehicle until the wheels are free.
– Apply brake (a second mechanic is required)
– Screw out the hexagonal bolt

Tighten
– Replace the hexagonal bolt.
Note The wheels must not make contact with the floor when tightening the complete half-shaft as the wheel bearing could be damaged.
– Apply brake (a second mechanic is required).
– First tighten the hexagonal bolt to 200 Nm.
– Rest the vehicle on its wheels.
– Tighten the hexagonal bolt 180º.

DODECAGONAL HEAD BOLT
Releasing
– If the vehicle is resting on its wheels, do not loosen the bolt more than 90º so as not to damage the wheel bearing.
– Raise the vehicle until the wheels are free.
– Apply brake (a second mechanic is required)
– Undo the dodecagonal bolt

Tightening
– Replace the dodecagonal bolt.
Note The wheels must not be in contact with the floor when tightening the articulated half-shaft as the wheel bearing could be damaged.
– Apply brake (a second mechanic is required).
– Initially tighten the dodecagonal bolt to 70 Nm.
– Rest the vehicle on its wheels.
– Retighten the dodecagonal bolt 90º.
