From AutoExpress
![]() The RS Clubsport (opposite) will arrive before the end of the year. Limited to 500 models and priced at around £35,000, it will get a 350bhp, 2.5-litre five-cylinder turbo. There will also be lightweight racing seats, lowered and stiffened suspension and sticky tyres, plus a dramatic paintjob. With that extra punch but fewer kilos to carry around, it should sprint from 0-60mph in five seconds. As with Renault’s previous Mégane R26.R, it will be a fitting send-off for one of the best RS models in history. Read more: http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/au...#ixzz0ekHeI44v |

£35,000 for a Focus!!!!!!!!!! Cupra's can do 360bhp with a few mods so no biggie really.

I'm sure VAG have similar plans up their sleeves for a send out Cupra R / Golf R / S3 with a new badge/sticker on it or something similarly spineless!

Owning a nigh on 350bhp S3, I'd be more than grateful for a manufacturer warrantied car with the same sort of power rather than pi$$ing in the wind like I have to at times when I have issues or gremlins. That said, £35k for a Focus is an inordinate amount of cash.

Indeed, SEAT have done a cheap copout with the new Cupra R so forget anything special coming from them.
The next Focus will have a hybrid ecoboost engine with an electric motor ....... oh dear! |

If the clubsport features a revised engine ie bigger turbo that car will be a beast. The standard RS already has lightweight recaros though |

Exactly, charge what they want for it, they will still sell them all.

Couldnt agree more, just look at the previous shape RS`s they still hold high residual value. I followed a green Focus RS home from work on Thursday night still not sure on the green colour, but still a mean looking motor!!!

everyone missing a big point? its fwd! could have 500bhp, it will still be an absolute nightmare on the roads, let alone when its wet.
I heard audi were releasing an RS3 which has the TTRS 2.5T in it producing something like 330bhp standard.... |

A load of folk on here are running 360bhp through the fronts in the Leon's.
I just admire Ford (irrespective of price) for having the cojones to do the honorable thing and provide a properly tooled up car with manufacturer warranty and the go to match the show. Lately I've been tremendously underwhelmed by VAG's efforts.. |

Echoing my sentiments exactly mate, when Seat announced the new mk5 Ibiza and then revealed no power hike or fancy kit at all in the top end versions I was hugely disappointed, same story with the mk2 Leon Cupra and Cupra R, they are so wrapped up in making eco cars that they seem to put no effort in to making their top end motors any more. They are getting left so far behind the game now by the likes of Ford, Renault with the hot Clio's, the Megane R26 and R26.R and Vauxhall with it's VXR range that it's not really an option anymore for somebody looking for a spicy hot hatch.

I hear it's this electric motor that gives it a rediculous extra amount of bhp to get it up to it's 'standard' value. Something along the lines of between 50-100bhp? Can anyone clarify this?

Might be AWD and have 300bhp, but the weight of the electric motor etc. will make it heavy as hell!

Plus the 5 pot volvo engine is quite heavy. The 2.0 ecoboost will be lighter.
