Discs and pads for MK4 Golf GT TDI

Bill,

The wifes cousin has the above motor and is complaining about the braking not being that great.
This won't be used for track days or anything but perhaps hard road use every now and again.
I was thinking EBC plains Eliptically grooved with DS2500 pads and a fluid change.

What do you think and what else can you suggest?

Also are these 280 x 22mm vented 5 x 100?

I think they list them as 288mm but also some listed at 312mm also
If 288mm they are £57.27/pair and grooving is £50/pair
If 312mm they are £63.51/pair and grooving is £50/pair
DS2500's are £135
