I have taken it off as was very worried about my gf driving through a puddle and sucking up water. has any one had any problems like this with there filter. if not will put it back on? cheers |

u should get the cleaning liquids and the special protectant oil for the filter ... i also have a Carbonio kit and its set up with full pipes so the filter is just behind my left fog light ... and i live in Saudi Arabia where we have lots of Dust and heavy rains in winter ... my workshop told me not to worry ... just make sure every service u clean and oil down the filter and like Tris said avoid deep water, mud or lots of dust.

I was running one for about a month until it sucked in crap in the bad weather and killed the MAF sensor so I put the filter back in the bay with a good air feed.

I have one also no problems so far - although the filter is dirty

It's pretty daft of the previous owner to be driving around with a carbonio kit and no arch liners!!! thats asking for trouble. At least you have the sense to take it off until you put some liners back on.
As for replacing the filter, i'd stick a jetex on the end, brilliant filters.

Ive had a Carbonio for about 2 years now and have had no trouble with it at all. Obviously just avoid big puddles lol
