Toyo R1-R - quick review

Got the R1R's fitted, went out just now and I can floor the car in first with no wheelspin with traction off when rolling from about 5-10 mph, 2nd gear is now drama free, just hang on for dear life as you get pushed into the back of your seat.

Steering feel is alot more communicative, and the tyres are really nice and predictable, you can feel when they are about to loose traction, but they come back into line really quickly also.

With these tyres fitted you will have to turn off the ESP to make any real progress round the twisties, as the esp will hinder you greatly otherwise.

Also have done some extreme wet weather testing and these tires are fine, if its really cold they will loose traction more quickly than say the OEM spec ones, but nothing dangerous, you can feel they loose grip, but as soon as you back off a teeny bit it all falls ba ck in line drama free. Have also tried to aquaplane with these fitted lol and they are no worse than OEM, infact they did pretty well as I went though loads of standing wet water bits and massive puddles drama free. Perfect summer tyre IMO, I reckon these are good dailys and there is no more reason to use r888's as a daily tyre to get up to your desired G'forces.

Love these tires, who needs 4wd in the dry now, and the best thing is these tyres have obviously got so much more to give, I can barely get the warm currently, so when its actual warm out these will be phenomenal

Go out and buy em, Im going back out for another drive now
