Oil Advice and Recommendations

Either the VW 505.01 or 507.00 spec oils are fine to use

They are all good oils, so make your decision based on any brand/price preference you have. You'll need to change the oil annually or at 10k.

Hi

The oil you need depends on the service schedule the car is on. If it is on an annual/10k miles service, you need an oil that meets the 502.00 specification. If it's the variable service schedule, you need an oil that meets the 504.00 spec.

The 504.00 oils are all good oils, so make your decision based on any brand/price preference you have. With the 502.00 oils, go for a 0w-30, 5w30 or 0w-40 or 5w-40.

According to my data, it needs a 507.00, so no, I wouldn't go for the 505.01. Does your handbook spec a 505.01? If so that's a better option.

As it sounds like it's getting well looked after, keep it in cood condition by going for a 0w-30, 5w-30, 0w-40 or 5w-40.

Just got a 2005 1.8T LCR (225bhp) and it's done around 33k - which oil would you recommend?

I have just bought a 2002 Leon Cupra 1.8 20v Turbo and would like to know which engine oil you would recommend as the first thing I plan to do is a full oil change just to be on the safe side.

hi oilman,
what would be the best oil for a mk2 leon 2.0tdi 140 (no DPF) coming up to 60k.
I usually run it on Quantum longlife 3, but still change it after 12 months instead of 24.

Hi Richard, I'd go for one of the VW505.01 oils as it hasn't got a DPF.

Just contacted Opie and ordered Gulf Comp at great price as recommended by helpful chap there,also ordered new plugs that I did a price beater on and they matched no problem,would recommend buying from these guy 100%,Many thanks Opie........
