My Paint Work
Right,as some of you may have read over the last few days i bought a Seat Leon Cupra in Imperial Blue. The car was dirty when first bought but all the other things to do with the car were sound.
Upon washing the car with the 2 bucket method i was and cleaned and then began to shamey (<-- Spelling, sorry) the car and then thats when i noticed that the WHOLE front of my car is covered with red over spray from some rubbish garage. These are the pictures of what i found!! ![]() ![]() How the hell do i get it off? I have been told to use diluted thinners to try and get it off but to be honest i don't want to take the risk. Is it a case of going for a full respray when i get my LCR bumpers and skirts or is there some way of being able to get this out of my paint? Last edited by Twiggy86; 10-03-2010 at 17:15. |

Hi,
The car will definitely need claying to get rid of whatever that contaminent is. Megs clay bar kit or the Autoglym clay bar kit should do the job. Is those marks just on one section of the car? Another thing, do not use a shammy on the car as you will scratch the paint work. Also do not use a sponge and make sure you use the two bucket method. You can get some good drying towels from the forum sponsors on here.

clay will work, but you may have to use such pressure that a fair amount of clay marring is left, so the car may need a light machine polish afterwards to get the clarity right

How much would you charge to get what you can out of the paintwork to make it better? In total that is? I am not looking to do it tomorrow as such but i would really like to have a pro do it or someone who knows what they are doing.
Send me a PM with the price if possible and i will see what i can do. Or would you really need to see the car? |

I'd really want to see it first, that way I can try a section and make sure a costing is realistic for you
