Fault code, Secondary air pump
Having searched the forum, i can find several references to a secondary air injector but none to a secondary air pump, are they the same thing?
i keep getting a engine managment light coming on, and a diagnostic check came up with the secondary air pump, the car still ran fine. the pump has been removed and is F**ked, i can get a new one from a dealer for £600 or from eurocar parts for £300. if it is the same as the SAI i could just get a blanking plate from forge and save myself a few hundred quid? what do i need to do? |

Secondary air injection unit? thats the same thing.
Whats wrong with the pump? Rivetts failed and its in 2 bits? If so can be fixed for under £5 as I did mine. Or you can remove it and blank the inlet off.

Well your choices are..
Buy a new one Buy a second hand one from scrappy or ebay etc Remove it and buy a blanking plate from Forge [about £18 I think] although with the blanking plate I think you might need a resistor in the plug to stop the light keep coming on. I think Philc has removed his so might be worth a PM to him.
