Brake bits, advice & prices !

Hi Bill

As per my other thread, I'm in need of some fronts discs & pads for the Passat.
It's a 2002 model with 312mm discs (5x112)

A few questions if I may...

1) I see you do the 8-groove discs for £159+vat - do these fit the 112mm PCD of the Passat ? And are they decent quality blanks that'll withstand warping ?

2) I presume the DS2500s are £135+vat ?

3) Can you supply the DS3000s, if so how much ?

4) Is the stone-cold performance of the DS3000 at least as good as OE ? If i'd been cruising in sub-zero winter temps for some distance without using them, would they bite quickly when needed ?

5) How much more aggressive on disks are the DS3000s, and how much of a mess of my alloys would they make ?

6) Any idea how much fluid I'd be looking at for a fluid change ?

7) What sort of turnaround time on the disks & pads ?

Cheers

>>No the 312's I advertise are for 5x100 fitment. I can do others but they are not std

2) I presume the DS2500s are £135+vat ?
>> Depends on the caliper.. £135 is for LC 312mm caliper

3) Can you supply the DS3000s, if so how much ?
>>Yes, depending on caliper, if 312mm calipers yes, they are another £19

4) Is the stone-cold performance of the DS3000 at least as good as OE ? If i'd been cruising in sub-zero winter temps for some distance without using them, would they bite quickly when needed ?
>>DS3000 have better bite across the temp range over OE pads

5) How much more aggressive on disks are the DS3000s, and how much of a mess of my alloys would they make ?
>> They are a race pad... but I use them personally as they have been disk friendly compared to every other pad I have personally tried.

6) Any idea how much fluid I'd be looking at for a fluid change ?
>> between 2-3 bottles of Motul RBF600 fluid (500ml bottles)

7) What sort of turnaround time on the disks & pads ?
>> Depends on the disk you want.. you say Passat? Machining to order need to allow a weeks turn round.

regards
bill

Thanks Bill - are the 5x112 variants of the 312mm 8-groove disk the same price as the 5x100s ?

what car is this for? model and year please
disk prices vary

Presuming: passat 2.0 my2000-2005 = £107.25/pair for plain disks
Grooved version (8 or eliptical) are £175/pair
prices would be plus vat & delivery
regards

Sorry - it's a 2002 Passat TDI 130 Sport Estate.
It's got the original calipers, just with the carriers to take 312mm discs instead of the original 288s (the 312s were standard on some Passats anyway).
