Seat Recaro child seats

Hi mate,

How much are the various Seat branded Recaro child seats? Was just looking at a standard Recaro that is suitable for 20lbs to 12 years and I'm sure there's a Seat version. Also, what's the lead time? We'd need it in a month. He's almost grown out of the newborn seat he's in now. To go in a mk1 Leon, 1.4S or LCR.

Cheers

Yeah, that's the one I was looking at in Halfords yesterday. I was sure I'd seen a Seat branded version that would look great in my LCR.

BTW, my LCR has the Recaro interior, front and back. The wife's 1.4 has the standard seats in the rear

Cheers

Thanks mate. I tried that site over the weekend but it was having issues, loads of ASPX errors. It's taken me some effort to get the page up tonight too. Finally I see that the one I want (this) is £181, while the standard ones are £154 (£150 in Halfrauds). Are you able to do us anything cheaper? I know the Seat one will cost more, and that's fine, I just wanted to see whether I could send some more business your way or whether I'd might as well just get it from a local dealer, what with postage and all that.

Thanks

I should have realised you had checked the site
Anyway, I emailed SEAT UK as this has raised an issue - the seat is listed at £181 but is actually £202.55. Best discount on any seat is only 10% plus a delivery charge of £10 so I hate to say it, but its best sourced locally from Mothercare or Halfords.
Sorry!

Update from SEAT UK -

POT shows this as £172.38 ex vat. The VAT is 5% and not £17.5 % making it £181 which is what is displayed on EPAC, seat.co.uk and the accessory brochures (attached is the Leon brochure)

This SEAT seat is more expensive as Recaro have made it exclusively for SEAT Sport and unfortunately it comes at a premium. We do offer cheaper alternatives which is what Halfords offer:

Black / Silver ZGB000061691648A £154.00 RRP inc vat
Black / Aquavit ZGB000061648D £154.00 RRP inc VAT
Grey/Pepper ZGB000061648E £154.00 inc VAT

Halfords web exclusive price for these is £153.99 inc VAT

Please note SEAT child seat come with a 2 year warranty (3 years if purchased on the invoice before PDI) whereas Halfords only come with 1 year.

I hope this clarifies the confusion

Good news, good news

Right, so they are £181 then? Like I said; I don't mind paying a premium for something designed to go in my car, but as you said; I'd might as well source it locally as I'm sure the postage from NI would kill us

Thanks for the details anyway, sorry to have troubled you on it.

By the way, weird how Halfords web exclusive price is £3.99 more than our local store is selling them for

Thanks again

I 'did the math' and after 10% off, its costing you £163 plus £10 Parcelforce so effectively only £9 off RRP. I suppose it depends on what your local dealer will charge and how helpful they are mate - if you could negotiate even a small discount, it would help.
If you cant get sorted, Im happy to help as always
