what engine?

does an 03 golf gti have? the i was red (i think it makes a difference?)

had one in front of me on a dual carrageway overtaking traffic, when the car in front of him pulled in he floored it while i left mine in 6th and stuck with him like glue.

i thought he would have put up with more of a fight, either that or my car is quicker that i thought

Unfortunately.. all Golfs bar the 4motion and the R32 are very slow..

They have loads of engines in the GTI these days.. its more a trim level than a model.. IIRC:
1.9TDi 130
1.9TDi 150
1.8t 150
1.8t 180
2.0l 115

they have only recently started doing the 180bhp motor as an "anniversary" model.. everything except the TDis and the 180sare quite slow.
I managed to smoke a audi a3 1.8t (150) last night.. thats practically the same weight as a golf.

If it was a MK4 Golf GTI with a red 'I' it would be a 150 1.8T car.

I used to have one, it came without a red 'I' so rang the dealer who supplied it (company car) and he sent me one FOC !

The 2.0 normally does not have the red 'I', but I have seen some sad people with 2.0 GTI with a red 'I' also.

On the continent, they don't badge the 2.0 a 'GTI' at all, so there is only the 1.8T GTI (150 or 180) and the 2.0 is just badged that.

just fyi the new MK5 Golf has a 2.0 Petrol Engine, developing 150bhp (if I remember rightly?)
