Tyre Pressure Monitor

Tyre Pressure Monitor has come on and checked pressures, topped them up and tried to reset following manual. Light on dash will not go off no matter when I try it with just ignition on, engine running but stationery and also at a steady speed. Nothing works. I have read a few other threads on this but no definitive answer. As far as I can tell, I have set the pressures at 32 for the front and 35 for the back as indicated on the inside of the fuel cap. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Are you holding the button in for a few seconds until you hear a bong, then light should go off?

P.s. what is your mpg like in the 1.9tdi?

Mine come on over the weekend, because i had a loaded car i think it was too much for the tyres.

I just pumped them up and then with the ign on held the button for about 5 secs, it beeped and went off

I'm holding in the button for ages but there's no 'bong' and the light stays on. Like I said, I tried it with just ignition on. then with the engine running. Then with the car moving. Nothing works.

As for the MPG, I haven't had a proper test of it yet but seems to be a bit disappointing compared to the 1.8TD Focus I had previously. Will do proper go at it and let you know.

I'm getting approx 45-50mpg on my 1.9tdi. I do 30 miles each way to work mainly on a roads, thought I'd get better when I got the car!

I'm getting 50-60 in my 2.0 tdi, use Shell normal fuel only, the new stuff is definitely better, steady 80mph the other day over 280 miles including a thrash over woodhead got me 55mph, would normally be 50
