Rattling noise after INA high flow K03s manifold installation

I got the mani installed last week...had to remove the old one, clean the k03s turbo bolts very well due to the rust and loctite from the stock manis bolts and had it installed after several hours from my mechanic since its a very tight fit and a bent-modified hexagonal spanner had to be used.

the performance is great. The car pulls harder on the high rev range which is what i was looking for....

BUT...

after i drove back home from Athens (arround 300kms) i noticed the car during warm up for about a minute it produces a rattling noise from the turbo which is loud and very annoying

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3L-RqkCOnD0
(ok not as loud as it sounds here but you can hear that zzzzzrrrrrrr sound coming from the turbo when you rev it).

It stops after about one minute of warming up and after that the engine sounds ok and the car runs fine. it does it also when you park your car and let it cool off for say 10 minutes...again for about a minute the rattling noise is there and then stops...

Anyone got a clue where it is coming from?

From the mani to engine cylinder head? From the mani to the turbo(3bolts)? or from the downpipe possibly

I am rather annoyied by that sound, since i am pretty much sure ill have to get the car once again to the garage for re inspection

somewhere i got a leak i guess, but where from....

other than that the mani is an excellent upgrade for my car, as well as for my mates tuned ibiza FR with the same setup

Did you check the cover for the drive shaft?

Today i had to dissasemble half my engine to be able to gain access to the 3 turbo bolts.

I was able to tighten then only a tiny bit and bent back again (its was a real pain) the locking plate for the bolts.

Result?

None

my car still rattles during warm up...

Any ideas?

I guess i am unlucky...

Made another trip to Athens to the garage.

We changed the gasket from mani to turbo..(the gasket was fine)

we also changed the DP gasket which was also fine

we retightened all the bolts from the cylinder head to the mani, and they were fine

The rattling noise-leak is still there.

We could NOT source where it is coming from. Probably the manifolds flange isnt 100% flat from construction?

So we did not remove the mani fully off the car. Maybe theres a crack, maybe this or that...who knows...i am very dissapointed.

We installed another 2 INA manifolds for friends and they were fine.

Prob is that i am spending money over and over again for rechecking etc.

I made my trip back from Athens and pushed the car a bit...as it was obvious now the car produces an even worse rattling noise and takes longer to stop...THat means the manifold is leaking even more.

I am thinking of getting a K04 001 turbocharger with a new INA manifold and maybe INA could cover in warranty my mani?

That would save me extra money from taking off again and again and again.

I would only have to pay once again for installation of a new mani and turbo like that....dunno...

Just a thought. ANd all that with less than 800 Kms...

your best bet is to take the mannifold off and check the collector part as it has been known to crack at that point and leak after only a few miles on cars.

then if it is contact sam he will sort it for you no issues there.

good luck buddy
