Does the knock happen when theres a change of inertia? (ie, press the brakes, clunk, press the accelerater, clunk, press the brakes, clunk... You get the idea
). If so im 99.9% sure it'll be a front top mount.

check the anti roll bar links and track rod ends as they are both common and similar sounding faults
if you are under there give the bottom ball joints a once over too |

I know makes sure my leon can become the toy
some pics from this weekend (Leon is being spoilt next weekend with a full detail) ![]() fitted the towbar friday evening - straight forward bumper not as secure on this now as you have to remove the original crash bar Saturday I removed the rear lights as the near side lamp unit was allowing water in see discolouration in pic above ![]() ![]() ![]() the pinky purple shows where the boot panel is clipped on and the red shows the 2 screws which hold the panel on - MUCH easier to remove than the Leon boot panel ![]() Next on the shopping list

Top of the lamp unit was spilt allowing the lamp to partially fill with water.
When the boot was lifted this water poored through the fog bulb (lower) apature into the space between the boot and the inner pannel. hope that helps

Cheers, I'll have a look. I get some water coming from the nearside inside lamp cover when I raise the tailgate.
