Petrol gauge and computer not working

Driving along today in my mk4 Ibiza 1.9tdi and my petrol gauge won't move from zero, after putting £30 of diesel in.
Also my computer isn't working. No display or anything?!
Please help.
Cheers, Tom.

Are there fuses for the fuel and clocks? Might be worth trying a different one?

what year is yours? on early mk4s especially the sport with the 6 gauges this is a common fault! the green connector on the back of the clocks need resoldering, guide on here somewhere. mine started doing this last week fuel gauge and outside temp sensor stopped working. if you take out the pull down compartment bottom right of the steering wheel, and reach up behind the clocks and give the wires a wiggle you should get it back temporarely.

Computer one is all up and working.
Just the fuel level now. Haven't checked the fuses yet, I'll do it in the morning. When the you pit the key in the ignition and turn the electrics on, the fuel light comes on temporarily. Does this mean it WON'T be the fuse or does the fuse just control the level?

This is rediculous!!
The fuses are all ok, everything works apart from the fuel gauge. It worked for about 30 seconds whilat driving, then went to zero again!! .
Anybody know what wire, where it is and what to do.
thanks, tom.

When resoldering the green wire to fix the petrol gauge, do you have to unscrew the dials to get to it? Been told there's a guide to it on here but I can't find it. If anyone knows can they post the link? I'm desperate!! .
