I have just ordered the new bushings from Forge for my existing Dogbone mount. Should do the same job as a whole new mount but nice and cheap. works out about £18.50 incl. VAT

I now have the ECS dogbone mount kit on my car, feels much tighter now. I was concerned about vibration but it's really hardly noticeable at idle, not intrusive at all but it is there, I got all 3 bushes fitted into the dogbone mount. Worth doing though.

It says no more than 20 minutes fitting time on one of those sites, is this realistic for DIY fitting, any specialist tools required ?

Ask Jim! Here's a pic I found of where the dogbone mount is situated:

I think it connects the transmission to the chassis. Bottom one is stock dogbone:

The new dogbone mounts...

obviously the original has far more compliance than the replacements or upgrades.

Whats the benefits...increased gear selection precision?

Do you get more vibration into the bulkhead giving cabin noise?

or does it just stop the engine bouncing around and causing low speed wheel hop or skip?

answered it ya self mate

modded one a while back with hard plastic bushes - had a bit too much vibration for me - but a decent pliable rubber would be best (just not TOO pliable)

the ECS kit looks just the job

I had the ECS poly bushes in the original dogbone mount and the vibrations never went away, they did lessen a bit but it was always there at idle, worse with the air-con switched on. That's why I moved to the EIP mount, they don't use poly bushes, but harder durometer rubber.

They use the same mount in their 600BHP R32!
