HELP - poss coding issue?

Hi,

I have a mk4 Ibiza with the usual 6 gauge dash problem, faulty fuel gauge etc.

I had the pins solder today at work.

I got into my car this evening to find the indicators, window wipers and climate control do not work.

The wipers move a bit and the climate and indicators have shown a bit of life but cut out once the wipers are tried.

Does something need coding?

Any replies will be great as i have no wipers which is scary in this current weather!!

Thanks in advanced.

Dan.

Yes, Mork, I think you're possibly right!! I would recheck the connections, possibly something dislodged while removing and refitting the instrument cluster.

Have a good look at ALL your fuses (including the ones in the engine bay) - most of the items you say arn't working are connected to the common power unit.

All items work briefly but cut out randomly as if something requires coding..

I'll check fuses and then remove the pod and check connections.

why would they work briefly if they needed coding?, wouldn't they just not work at all and i thought coding only involved the ecu which hasn't been touched?.

I thought it might have lost settings where it has been unplugged.

If they work it means they are plugged in but as they work breifly i must have a connection issue or something as lost its settings.

Thats wat im thinking anyway.

Wont be a coding issue, sounds like a fuse has blown to be tbh, they shouldnt be effected by removing and installing a dash insert.

I just spoke to the guy that done the soldering.

He said he had the engine running while he unplugged and soldered.......
