FAQ:
  1. Why would I convert my 1.8T to use 2.0T coils?

Allthough when we dissected the 2.0T Coil , internally it was the same as a 1.8T unit. I am waiting on getting a 2.8 24V Coil Pack so I can throw up a comparison shot but in the mean time running the 2.0T Coils allow you to run a hotter spark.
We have a few local customers that we did the conversion for and they are extremely happy with the results.
  2. What is the largest gap I can run with these coil packs?

0.04" is what we used. If others have used larger please chime in and post up the data.
  3. Why is the adapter plate needed??

The OEM 2.0T Coils are approx 14mm taller than the 1.8T units. In order to have a seal that allows some form of security with the valve cover, the coil pack requires an adapter plate.
  4. What are the PART #'s ?

    RED MKV FSI Coil Packs - 06E 905 115
    BLACK MKV FSI Coil Packs - 07K 905 715 F
    BLACK MKV TSI Coil Packs - 06F 905 115 F
    BLACK MKVI TSI Coil Packs - 06H 905 115

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to send over an email or post in here. Thanks so much everyone. If you feel like contributing to the FAQ , post it in here and I will compile it and add it to the FAQ.

a coil comparison between the 2.0 tfsi coil, 1.8t bolt down and the vr6 24v would be great.

Which coil do you recommend. In the other thread they mentioned ULEV coils?

To be quite honest I have used the 06F and 06H coils so far and found no difference in performance however there was a huge difference over the 06A unit.

Customer came by last night and I told him to give these coils a shot...he was very skeptical because he has only been able to run 0.028 gap with 25psi. Anything over that and he would either pop coils or get serious eratic engine behavior.

After a few minutes , gaped the plugs to 0.04, used the 06F coils and upped the boost to 27 psi...his first remark was if we break it , I pay for it. Right off the bat idle was improved. No erratic idle variation. Took it for a spin and he was grinning from air to air.

Ive been reading about these today, any logs of before and after?

Be nice to see if it helps bring down CF's so you can advance timing further.

Those are from the MKV 2.5 Jetta (thought that motor never went to the UK?)

Whatever the case yes those are the ones and the spark plug I used was NGK BKR7E

OK good, I got them, plus I use the BKR7E plugs anyway, gapped to 0.028 at 25psi of boost on the GT2860RS.

So just send you £69 via Paypal for the adapters?

Ok
now you can gap them to 0.040 @ that boost.

Correct on the £69
